Read UT's post again. Do some google research. Then come back and fix your post again.

if Canada raised our world ranking position and reputation , players would choice to be recognized as Canadian.
Canada has to be a certain world ranking for our players to get work permits in some countries in Europe. For example in the U.K.
Interesting.
But until that time you'll see Canadians looking to exploit any avenue they can to get an EU passport. I remember a few years ago Daniel Haber was trying to use his Jewish heritage to acquire German citizenship under the Juden Verboten Act of 1936.

There are a lot of Canadian players listing Chile as a second nationality lately, as a way of getting an EU passport. This is related to a recent WHO ruling on acquired genetic traits, what is called soft inheritance.

Born in Brazil and Brazil-Dutch nationality. So not sure if he holds CDN as well.
The whole Dutch single citizenship thing might be a pain. His father would have to look into his Canadian citizenship status, but being born here he should have no problem. Then Bijker needs to get his Canadian citizenship. Might be hard, might not be.

Interesting, Bijker left Heerenveen to sign with Cadiz in the Spanish 2nd Division. A LB born in '93, he played in 2 matches for Netherlands U21 squad. Definitely worth a look.

Nice find! Does anyone know if he's eligible for us? That's a pretty decent sized club for him to be at.
I was tracking him on the MOACA a while back. He's a tall, lanky DM born in '88. Saw him play once against Cavallini when Cavs was at Juventud, he was decent that game.

Great find. I don't understand the Spanish football system, but I have Izarra categorized as 4th division. Is that incorrect?
Izarra are in 2B, third tier.
Primera = 1
Segunda = 2
Segunda B = 3
Tercera = 4

There are still 80 teams in the third tier there and he had already played at that level last year so this was probably more interesting to him
Yes, i'm just pointing it out as a point of comparison for him going forward. It's a good move (as i wrote in his thread) because Sedan are more likely to move up.

Electrico promoted this season. He would have played D3 in Portugal if he stayed.
-
Another 96 in Portugal, Dieu Merci Yuma finished with 21 goals in 15 games in Portuguese 4th tier.

His club (Electrico) has gained promotion to the 3rd tier for next season.

That's a sizeable jump in Portugal, going from 80 teams (8 regional leagues of 10) to 22 teams in one national division. He's a '96, right?
-
Elijah left Vancouver to return to Calgary because he was homesick. This is from a member of Rev. Adekugbe's congregation. I believe he is 2 years younger than Sam, so he's a '97. Would have been eligible for this U20 cycle. Was he better than the options we called up? Who would you have left off?

I mean the reason Ayo Akinola is playing for the US is because their scouts noticed him while ours didn't, which is sad because he plays for TFC.
We would have needed to have a team/camp to call him to for there to be scouts.

Good news for Monsalve. Maybe he can get back in the national team picture:
Huge congrats to @davidamonsalve who has signed for the Swedish div. 1 club @HusqvarnaFFSwedish 3rd tier? Not likely. Surprised since i thought he'd do well back in the Veikkausliiga, which is a higher level.

Derek Cornelius has signed a 3.5 year contract with Serbian Super League team FK Javor Ivanjica. They are currently in 6th place in the Serbian table. He has been playing centre back recently with Neumunster. Serbian league is not a bad place at all for a 19 year old especially if he can get playing time. Very good record of developing players and a league where even the flawed players who won't rise higher have a good technique and tactical awareness.

This makes so much more sense than his move to a German Oberliga club did. I never understood why an RPL and Tippeligaen club wanted to sign him and then he ended up at such a lower level.

With all due respects, my kid might be playing at this level in a few years and I won't think it'll make any sense at all to be tracking him on a CMNT forum. Sorry but having watched every tier in Spain, and assuming France would be a step down, this is okay for a project, a kid working his way up. But barely. Gagnon-Laparé has been in our national program, he really should have moved to a higher level team, third tier at least.
Agreed, this is a distressingly low level for JGL to have landed. He should have at least have signed in Championnat National (3rd tier) which is around NASL level.
Jeffrey, unlike Spain the French 3rd tier is a single division (18 teams) and the 4th tier is 4 divisions (64 teams), so although Spanish football is superior at the top 2 tiers it is more watered down from the 3rd tier down.

Is Bekker under contract for next season? I could see him going there, would actually be a decent level and playing style for him to show what he can do.

Any young center back getting a first team contract is good news. Anyone know much about this guy? If it's true he is getting a first team contract in Serie B, that is pretty big with our lack of young CBs
Italy does not have a reserve system, so he'll likely play out the year in Primavera (assume he's a 97 if he's 19) and get loaned out next season.

French father, no evident link to England. May have a good shot at these kids as the French will probably have a lot more options domestically.

We capped him in one of the Iceland games in January 2015. He still has his one-time switch so he could theoretically still play for Romania (or the U.S.), but that seems highly unlikely given that Romania are a very strong team, so I don't think there's too much need to be paranoid about him. At the very least, if his career starts to take off he'll be back on Canada's radar long before he's on Romania's.
Yes, but until he plays an official match for us we can't afford to be complacent. A 22 yr old playing well domestically in Romania would draw the attention of some of their big clubs and their NT staff would likely start courting him too. If we crash out in the next 2 weeks our only official matches for the next 3 years will be next summer's GC. So there's nothing paranoid about keeping a close eye on the guy.
