Yes most of our problems are because of terrible scouting missing scores of players that would launch us up the stratosphere in the world soccer hierarchy.  If only it was that simple lol

I mean the reason Ayo Akinola is playing for the US is because their scouts noticed him while ours didn't, which is sad because he plays for TFC.

Just learned about Elijah this morning, can anyone tell me about Elijah and why he isnt currently involved in the National set up? Hits a good set piece, great range of passing, and looks extremely composed on the ball.

There are a lot of answers to that question most of them including how terrible our scouting is.

If you were to ask me, I would say Floro would bring in Edgar. Don't know if the salary would improve, however.

I doubt he could tempt Sam away from Spain, at least not yet. Though he'd take a step up in terms of salary for sure.

Basically, it has to be someone making a hundred grand or less, otherwise they are not going to be interested.

Sam should leave Spain. He isn't going to make it to the top or even second division.

James' move to Vasas looked underwhelming to me, but after three games they have yet to loose a game. His role has been limited so far but nonetheless. Great start of the season.

Thomas' bad luck doesn't seem to come to an end. After Halldorson left his club signed a new goalkeeper, 30 year old Ukrainian Sergey Pogorely. I think Thomas is injured cause he wasn't on the bench, so it makes sense to get a new goaly for the club. Maybe Thomas should look for a loan. He's struggled to find a club for years, so you can't blame him for signing a 3 year contract last season, but surely it didn't pan out the way he thought at the time.

On the flip side Chencinski is playing regularly for his club.

From what his coach says, he is set for starting defensive mid role.

Thing is, he was subbing on and getting minutes at Ferrol. He was playing a role on a team leading their division, their 12th man, they actually slipped and lost the lead after he left (really hurting their promotion chances). And that team was way stronger with greater potential than this.

I think the coach doing that asshole move and subbing him off early 1st half in a match last winter just plain pissed him off, was it back in Jan I guess? That was a bad move and unnecessary, and Sam said enough.

IMO, this is not the best move for his football future, or his economy, though as I say, nice place to be and I am sure he'll have fun.

    It isn't.

It is starting to become obvious that maybe the heights we thought Piette would get to won't be reached. It's a bit worrying how much faith Floro puts in him considering the fact that his club career has been disappointing and stagnant since 2012.

He's still young, but this doesn't look promising.

I honestly don't think Sam is anywhere near getting a first team contract for Depor, I'd be very surprised if he did. After all, if he did, he would automatically become the highest level player for Canada in terms of club. And we all know that would not be realistic.

EDIT: Sorry, rectifying, Sam is staying at Deportivo B. That is good news. They are keeping a core of 15 players, bringing up 6 u-19s from their academy, they feel it is a strong side to try for the promotion next year again. And all those guys that much more experienced if the first team needs them.

Same spending ANOTHER year with Deportivo B isn't good.

Cornelius left the Stabaek training camp yesterday. The club's sports director says they will take several days to decide whether to sign him or not. He also states they have some other options. The transfer window for Russia closes today so it seems like that possibility is gone at least for now. Since Terek made him a contract offer and he seems to have done well with Stabaek it seems like the transfer fee demanded by Lubeck is the issue and probably the teams need to see him as a starter or at least a first team player to pay the fee. I suspect they probably want a fair bit of cash up front just like FCE did for Boakai and clubs are more and more reticent to pay that if the player is not going to walk into their starting lineup. It is always an issue with young players signing with clubs weighing what they can gain with the training they get as opposed to the control they give the club over their future. Still at 18 spending some time playing regularly in the German 4th division is still not that bad even if he is capable of playing at a higher level. If he does well other clubs will be interested. His contract with Lubeck is until June 2017 so they need to probably move him in the next year if they want to make money off the transfer. The article mentions that he played against Perm as a defensive midfielder. He was previously playing more as a winger/attacking mid so it seems like both higher level clubs saw him more as a defensive player.

One thing, could not actually be the case, but it could be true. Bob Bradley's success with stabekk got them into the Europa league, which means money, money that perhaps they will spend on Cornelius. Just a thought.
