Mom is American and the kid was born in the States, but rules still apply. Maybe the DeRosario's own a place in NYC and the kids can argue residency there?

La Nucia are in Tercera Group 6 (4th Tier).

He has more than one son right? The eldest is with TFC, i assume this is one of the younger ones?

Newbie here to international football, how much would someone get paid to play in a Hungary 3rd tier league? Croatia 3rd tier? Thanks.
Can't say for sure, but starting as low as 2nd division in the Balkans they are paid under the table (cash) on a per game basis. This could be happening in the leagues you are asking about. A per diem for food might also get paid as Shamrock mentioned. In France in the 50's and 60's good lower division players were sometimes given jobs in local businesses owned by the club owner or his friends, this could also be a perk for the leagues you're enquiring about. Hope that helps.

I assume they'll fight for promotion but until then I really don't want Aird or Gasparotto getting call ups. We should aim higher than the Scottish 2nd division.
Sure that sounds like a good principle, but what if the guy scores 10 goals and 15 assists as a winger and Dundee Utd. tear through the Championship? You don't call a guy like that up?

Yes but it is incredible dedication, the sacrifice is huge. I doubt any make enough to live properly, though they may have an apartment from the club or some small perk. In any case, you have to be very convinced to give it a shot, since even if you end up in 2nd tier in a few years, which would be a big step up, you are still at a very modest level.
Sure is, but for any kid that loves the sport and has the ambition to be a pro athlete (or even just wants to delay adulthood lol) it's probably more fun than work.

I wonder what the thought process goes into many of our young Canadians who go to Europe and end up playing in fourth divisions around Europe. I can't imagine the pay is great, especially in Eastern Europe. Simply the love of the game? The culture shock for some must be immense, from the outside looking in it seems like a lot of effort for very little pay off. But I don't know maybe this is everything they've ever wanted.
Think of the alternative for a young player from S. Ont. Live at home with the 'rents, work and/or go to school and play in L1O or CSL for free or small cash payments. This way they get to go live on their own with accomodation paid for, might get a cushy job through the club sponsors or owners, experience a different culture and all while playing at a level at least similar to L1O.

With how bad the Dutch have been recently they are trying to get younger. Being that he is only 18 he would likely be on their radar at this point.
He's a Dutch youth international.
Kadioglu has been known on this board for about 18 months since he scored on his Eredivisie debut with NEC as a 17 yr old.

Also, a kid named Matthew Roberts plays for Swansea City U18. Soccerway has him listed as Canadian, born in Belfast. Anyone ever heard of the kid?
He has his own thread.

As I posted on a CPL stadiums thread, where they play is an absolutely beautiful piece of architecture and a demonstration that you can build small stadiums with great quality and character: http://www.arquitecturaviva.com/es/Info/News/Details/8110
That looks real sharp. By my count approx. 5000 seats? (if both sides are the same) Any idea how much it cost to build?

The GTA and its immediate surroundings has a population comparable to the Ruhr valley in Germany, so what would happen if the sport were stronger both on and off the field of play would be that there would be multiple clubs. Right now it's like people in Dortmund, Gelsenkirchen, Duisburg, Essen, Oberhausen and Bochum all following one club.
The Ruhr valley has a pop. of 20M within a 150km radius. Just a tad bigger...

He'll be 23 this year. If Beita is out at TFC then that RWB spot could be there for the taking if he beats out Hasler.

Nikolas Kras has signed with Avezzano in the Italian 4th tier. He was previously playing in the 5th tier, so a little step up for him.
Kras is an '89 who was a starter for Viareggio in Serie C1 as a 22/23 yr old before suffering a broken leg. His career was never the same after that injury...

Zerozero.pt are usually pretty accurate, they have him as born in Italy.

"Gerges was the starting keeper for Metro Ford that season, but was forced to miss the nationals due to being called up for a Canadian U18 training camp in Guatemala."
Good news. Also, sounds like he's a '95, can anyone confirm?
