    CPL new teams speculation

They do have a French logo though.

    HFX Wanderers launch/2019 offseason thread

Yeah, I think this was before they hired their graphic design guy. Wayyyyyy too many of the earlier Wanderers releases had tonnes of spelling mistakes and factual errors. They listed "St. John's, NS" multiple times leading up to the game. They got another player's name wrong too. They have Johnathan Cordoba, but his name is actually Jhonattan, as well as spelling Colombia as Columbia. They haven't made any mistakes like this in a long time, so I think those days are behind us now, hahahaha.

Jhonattan Córdoba is playing in the Bangladesh Premier League for Saif Sporting Club

Will the CPL have a Chivas?

Has there even been one American signed yet? Let alone an "MLS reject"? I think you're getting ahead of yourself here.

    CPL General

That's not MLS that requires that, it's the CSA.

Players you expect to see in the CPL

Did everyone forget Halifax is in this league too? It's Halifax announcing players tomorrow, I guarantee it.

When he signs with Halifax you mean?

CPL's Independent Club League Model (Not Single Entity)

Which is unrelated. One guy buying in to two different teams doesn't make the whole league single entity.

I'm not so sure it's not single-entity. The league owns the trademarks for all the team names and logos. If it wasn't single-entity, wouldn't the teams own those?

How the crowds will be when the weather is poor is something that concerns me. We get pretty much the same average rainfall (in both volume and total rainy days) as Vancouver does, so it rains here a hell of a lot. With no roof on the stands, it does make me wonder if people will show up if the weather isn't great.

    CPL new teams speculation

The CPL won't be truly coast-to-coast until Alert gets a team.

Truly? How is Halifax and Victoria not "truly" coast-to-coast?

At an event Tuesday night, Derek Martin had a Q+A session. He said that they've sold more than 2,000 season tickets so far (which we already knew, and I think he might've undersold it. I think it's over 2,500) and that their estimates place them at around 5,000 tickets to be sold before the season begins. The stadium holds just under 6,500, and they expect 6,000+ at every match.

Nobody asked, but I'd just like to provide an example of why this isn't all that shocking. In MLS's early days, they had 12 teams. Here's their owners: LA Galaxy, DC United, Colorado Rapids, San Jose Earthquakes, Chicago Fire, NY/NJ MetroStars - Phil Anschutz FC Dallas, Columbus Crew, KC Wizards - Lamar Hunt New England Revolution - Robert Kraft Miami Fusion - Ken Horowitz Tampa Bay Mutiny - Owned and operated by MLS itself. Yep. At one point Phil Anschutz owned SIX(!!!!) MLS teams, and Lamar Hunt owned another three! They had four owners for 12 teams, and one of the teams was league owned (which is technically true of all the teams, but still) So, Bob Young owning the Forge, and having a large stake in the Wanderers (and KW when/if they get a team) isn't that insane. Especially when you consider the fact that Bob isn't the one controlling or operating the Wanderers, and that he's hired SEA to do that for him.

    Ottawa CPL Club

That'd be the one. When I first heard Bob Young was bankrolling the Wanderers, I didn't think "oh no!" I thought "Oh hell yeah, we've got a sugar daddy!"
