  1. TFC played very well at times in the 3-2 loss. Zavaleta was taken off at half after a very shaky start. Ciman played well except for one useless slide tackle. Delbado has a couple of really nice touches and about a half a dozen horrible ones. Please for the love of God start Chapman. Chapman came off the bench with good energy and looked dangerous. Pozuelo and Jozy hook up for 2 goals and Pozuelo hit a great strike at the 93rd that forced Frei into a great save. Ciman also drilled one off the post in added time.
  2. Novillo just scored. Urriti involved in the build up. Game on TSN 5
  3. Pitch looks absolutely awful. Maybe they should reach out to TFC and gets some tips.
  4. 100%! Team is looking good and always happy when a Canadian gets pt. Actually searched out a stream for the first time ever to watch the Impact game last night when I read on here that 6 Canadians were on the pitch.
  5. Two can play at that game 😉 But ask anyone with the squad and they’ll tell you that the 23-year Brazilian’s value is sky high. “I think he has the capacity to be one of the best right backs in our league, if not the best right back,” said coach Greg Vanney. “He’s a nice weapon to have.”
  6. Interesting. Bradley drops down to TAM level and you keep Robben for one additional year at 3-4 million?! Then he’s gone and they can reinvest in a Pozuelo type who is in the prime of his career. In spite of his age his skill level would probably still allow him to contribute significantly to TFC like Zlatan in LA for a year and a half. Would love to see him in person even if only for a year and a bit.
  7. Getting lost in semantics. Happy with Laryea and pleasantly surprised with his play at RB today. I would not announce him as better than Auro based on one game Athletically, technically, skill wise whatever, if we were playing for the MLS cup I would have Auro at RB over Richie 100% of the time based on what we have seen to date.
  8. Was at the game. Just disagree that from one outing a guy who couldn’t get on the field with one of the shittiest teams in the league is miles more athletic than Auro who has consistently played on one of the top teams In the league. Great that he played well and hope for good things.
  9. Played well. Not sure he is more athletic than Auro. Why was Auro out - is he hurt? dont get me wrong happy Laryea played and well and it would be great if he could play his way into the conversation for the CMNT but doubt he unseated Auro based on one good performance.
  10. A point. Team dominated stretches of play and needs to create more chances in the final third. Pozuelo looked more human today with all 4 of his corners being terrible. Laryea looked good. Not sure what Bono was thinking on the first goal and for F$&&s sake can we nail Delgado to the bench and start Chapman.
  11. Thanks for doing this! Miss the Canadian Power Rankings - are those no longer being calculated. Believe it was done by Steven Sandor on one of the Canadian soccer sites. It is interesting to compare the number of minutes Canadians are getting in MLS and USL ... from year to year.
  12. 7-0 with 5 to go. Abysmal performance a la Caldwell.
  13. Pozuelo’s performance was in the words of Ray Hudson majesterial. Couldn’t have hoped for a better start and it is obvious he is class. Also demonstrates in my mind that injuries played a massive role in our performance last year. Moor bossing the back (Ciman on the bench), Mavinga shaky at times but getting back to his all star form and we now have a younger healthier Vazquez. Things are looking up.
  14. Altidore and Pozuelo start tonight. Should be a great game to watch. Go Reds!
  15. Suitable back up. Certainly had some moments offensively but not a difference maker.
  16. The weather makes almost zero difference unless we are playing in the NWT and then it would affect our team as much as the opposition. During CCL the last 2 years TFC have won, lost and tied teams from Mexico and Panama during some absolutely horrible shit weather. Its not like the opposition rolled over and let us run up a 6-0 score line on them. Every game was close. Play the games where we can minimize the support for the opposition OR make enough money to start having some frickin friendlies. If that is Toronto - great. If that is BC - great. If that is Commonwealth - great. We are moving in the right direction and playing games period should be the goal of the program. It's hard to qualify for the WC when your team has no cohesion because they have only ever played as a squad a couple of times.
  17. I taped some Canada games on the PVR (not knowing what they were) and it was a Concacaf youth competition from Colorado a few years ago. Watched some of the matches and it was interesting to see guys like Manella, Clarke getting major minutes who are now basically afterthoughts or none existent in our program. One player who did really well in the 2.5 matches I watched was Petrasso. Of course he wasn't playing fullback, he was up the field on the wing and he was dynamic running at defenders and made a couple of amazing runs in the bits I watched. He did miss a PK against Mexico but other than that he was excellent. Hope that he gets his game back together in the CPL and can maybe get into the conversation of joining an MLS team and who knows, maybe be depth on the CMNT.
  18. Actually either one is a decent option at this point. I was able to watch one of Godinho's games and in that match he was pretty solid. ZBG did fine in BC and hopefully he will get some half decent playing time in Montreal this year. Maybe one will start progressing over the other and become a lock but right now they are both capable and it is a good problem to have.
  19. Sometimes that is the best option. Playing out of the back is great with talented players on the backline and in net, but even then there are always situations where it is more appropriate to hammer the ball up the field and make the other team play through all 10 outfield players to get a chance on net. You would think most pros would have that down without issue. Our team is usually good for one major screw up every game and that could be the difference between a 2-1 loss and a 1-1 draw against better opposition. Now that we have some attacking power I would much rather our D take no chances and hoof the ball up the pitch rather than gift the opposition a chance/goal.
  20. Really like Osorio's game and improvement over the past years but being a competitor doesn't explain away the reaction to being subbed. Cost him years of involvement with the squad under Floro so you think he would have learned his lesson. Watching Giovinco act like a spoiled brat when subbed really sullied his image and my esteem for the guy. Hope Oso doesn't become Gio 2.0. I love guys who want to compete but when the coach says I need to do this and you are coming off - don't act like a 9 year old and you don't question the coaches decision. Some of the youth today think they can do whatever they want and there are no consequences - like the keeper for Chelsea - that was ridiculous. Osorio needs to play hard when he is on the field and walk off like a professional when the gaffer sends in someone else. I love Oso and what he has become as a player but he needs to grow up and mature. Hopefully he will get the chance to prove that he has improved not only as a player, but as a person. But if I was Herdman I might send a message and nail him to the bench next game and then have a conversation as to why.
  21. Borjan's intial decision to pass the pall to Piette was very poor and then when the ball came back he tried to get fancy and pull it inside the attacking player rather than hoof it and that decision was horrendous. But probably not the type he makes in a WCQ game I would hope.
  22. Solid game. All done without arguably 2 of our best 3 in Arfield and Davies. We are in the ascent and it’s s great time to be s CMNT supporter!!
