New York has exercised their option option for Karl Ouimette for 2016. Congratulations Karl!
Happy to read this!
When Ouimette came on the scene with the Impact, I was glad to see another HGP, but doubted whether he'd have a pro-career.A few years later, the Supporters Shield holders are exercising his option and he is starting for Canada in WCQ's (and doing well).
Congrats! -
Aleman resigned up to 2018
Fantastic. 2 goals in 12 matches so far with Herediano. Getting starts or coming on as an attacking super sub. Still only 21 years old.
Really hoping he's done enough to earn a national team recall. He has earned it (and has earned the extension as well).

We need to captie Anderson at once. He will prevent opposing teams from cheapshotting Atiba, and win momentum with his fights.
Oh, a good ol soccer game, is the best game you can name. And, the best game you can name, is a good ol soccer game.
...... Actually, that could make a good foundation for a chant. Would probably catch on quickly with the general crowd.

According to Spanish Wikipedia and Google Translate, he's lived most of his life in Chile. Been with Colo Colo since he was 8. Guessing it's all for naught, but if we're tracking guys like Arfield and Leutwiler, we should track this guy as well.
Thanks for looking in. I agree that we should be tracking. Would love a player like that to join out set up.
At the same time, I will hardly be dissapoined if he plays for Chile. Since he was born in Canada to Chilean parents and then grew up in Chile, I would easily understand his decision. Now, if he grew up in Canada and played in our system and then left and opted for Chile, that would be hard to swollow, but ultimately I believe the way to go is to take it with grace, rather than resorting to character attacks and whatnot.
The reality is that we need to continue making our program attractive to players with multiple options. Our country is multicultural and our government has a policy that encourages multiculturalism. It is the same cultural phenomenon that's contributed to the popularity of this sport as I am concerned. It is our blessing and our curse. So, we just have to continue deal with it by making Canada an attractive option.

Would be great but we already have a slew of left backs, so not the end of the world if he opts for Chile.
Was he developed in the Canadian system, or did he grow up in Chile after he was he was simply born to Chilean parents in Quebec?

Unfortunate. Glad to hear we are aware of him though. You're really on top of things, thanks for all the good work you are putting in.

Juan Cruz Mascia
Do we know about this guy? 21 year old with 6 goals in 16 appearances for Nacional. Apparently born in Ottawa, but has played for Uruguay at the U17 level. 9 goals in 10 appearances, I believe.

To each their own!
I already heard about the local connection, but I still do not like it. I would have preferred a simple 'Sporting Kansas City B or 2'.
To me, it just seems a bit too much of a rip off from England for my taste. I can stomach things like 'FC', 'United' and even 'City', but adding 'Rangers' to the name is just beyond my personal limit
For the record, Sporting and Dynamo are not my favourite names either, but there's nothing worse than the owners naming two clubs within the same organization after two different European names from two different regions (British Isles and Iberia).
