Coach Mr B

In September of 1985, I was fortunate to travel to St. John’s for the clinching game of Canada vs Honduras. I was a naive 27 year old teacher and soccer coach and had organized support from our school by way of a huge painted paper banner, never thought about wind or rain, rolled it up took it on the plane unfurled it at the stadium, had lots of folks volunteer to hold it...and it all worked out! What a party in downtown StJohn’s afterwards, flew back to Nova Scotia on Sunday and back to school on Monday morning with great memories and soccer ambitions. I am retired now after a 35 year career and still supporting the national team and so very excited about this generation’s crop of talented players. Go Canada Go !
