  1. I'm thrilled with this loan. As a York9 season ticket holder, I don't have a lot of problems taking known qualities at TFC. A pretty solid move from both parties.
  2. It should be fairly verifiable to see whether a formal application for sanctioning was made. Seems like a weird thing to lie about.
  3. I live two minutes away from Monarch Park. I would imagine a strong NIMBY streak from the Upper Beaches neighbourhood. It also has a lot of issues with traffic flow for cars. I love the location, but unfortunately, I think its baked in as a community grounds with semi-pro aspirations at best.

    I think one of the selling points of the game is the atmosphere generated by soccer matches. I expect the league to take a more liberal approach to smoke and flares to help sell the league to millennials.
  5. We've started a new twitter account! Check us out at @Toronto_CPLSG
  6. Duke of York for Friday, June 30th, 6:30-8:00 PM has been booked for our pre-match pub before League One action at Varsity Stadium (North Mississauga v. North Toronto) Hope to see you folks out! https://www.facebook.com/events/308276056281543/?acontext={"ref"%3A"4"%2C"feed_story_type"%3A"308"%2C"action_history"%3A"null"}
  7. I'm up for the Duke of York. I could ask to reserve some space before the match on the 30th.
  8. I was at the Wolfpack match last weekend, but was largely there because of the novelty of watching a professional rugby team live (rugby league sucks btw). The elements and seating did not make for a comfortable experience, so I don't see myself watching more until they get promoted to higher divisions. I agree with @ironcub14, Lamport needs MAJOR renovations (and possibly a roof) to make it a viable venue for CPL soccer.

  10. Not really sure there needs to be a definitive vote on a "name" until we get other questions settled. I'm just hoping for a decent amount of people to show up and get an airing of the various views on how to best drum up a good critical mass of supporters to back a Toronto CPL Club. In that same vein, I'm almost done work out here in Halifax, but I'm still 50/50 on whether I can make it for the 30th. I hope someone takes the lead on making rough minutes of the meeting for the benefit of those who can't make it.
  11. I like the Cronenbergs name, but largely because of its Rick and Morty reference. It's funny to me. But that being said, I think there's a general feeling that we should probably go with a more generic placeholder to attract a broader audience before things crystallise into an actual club. I guess we can talk more about this in person!
  12. Fair enough! But I think the brand is already connected to L1O at the point. Personally, I liked the revived Toronto City logo. I'd also be down for starting fresh and getting something new altogether.
  13. I've also created an event page for the meeting on the 30th. Feel free to spread it to your footy networks! https://www.facebook.com/events/1988266074728266/?acontext={"ref"%3A"4"%2C"feed_story_type"%3A"370"%2C"action_history"%3A"null"}
  14. Hey folks, I started a facebook group for an alternative platform to talk Toronto/CPL goodies! https://www.facebook.com/groups/1362590603835471/
