  1. Haven't been to Setanta site in awhile. But since you posted this I noticed that Setanta has a spot on their site for finding a local Pub that carries Setanta. All you have to do is put in your postal code and out comes a list of venues that carry Setanta. http://www.setantaca.com/en/CAN/How-to-subscribe/SETANTA-PREMIUM/
  2. On the homepage find the article near the top about the World Cup Qualifier. Below that article it says in the amallest of fonts "click here to launch player".
  3. As I look at the schedule from Sportsnet itself those of us in the Pacific and Western regions can watch the game live at 4:30 (7:30 et) pacific time. http://www.sportsnet.ca/tvschedule/?schedDate=20080820 Am I reading this wrong?
  4. I'm still hopeful that FSWC is gearing up to offer more domestic soccer programming IE: USL-1 and MLS
  5. ... True, but in Garber's interview during the game last night he did mention the NHL. Why would he do that? I've never read any statements made by Garber to placate Canadians. I think he referred to the NHL because he knows that the NHL's tv deal in Canada is a major economic driver for the league. I think Garber and MLS are at least intrigued by the possibility of that happening to them. You're right, 4 Canadian teams out of a 20/24 team league isn't about extracting a tv deal with ESPN, it's about CBC, Sportsnet, TSN, The Score or anybody else who wants to pony up in Canada.
  6. I think you didn't read far enough into Cafepress. Here's one link about what they do http://www.cafepress.com/cp/info/sell/ and here's another about how you ( the Vees ) make money http://www.cafepress.com/cp/info/sell/intro_money Here's a link about base pricing for Cafepress merchandise http://www.cafepress.com/cp/info/help/pricing_policy.aspx So basically take the the value T shirt at Cafepress which has a base price of $8.99 http://www.cafepress.com/cp/info/sell/products/productdetail?prodtypeno=112 slap the Vees logo on it, add a markup so it costs say $15, build the Vees Cafepress shop http://www.cafepress.com/cp/info/sell/shops/ then put the link somewhere on this site so we can buy simple Vees apparrel. CafePress does all the work, the Vees make some money, we get to buy some cool Vees swag!
  7. With less than two days away to allstar game I think this is just a pre-emptive answer by MLS to some obvious questions they are going to be getting this week. I don't read to much into this at all. MLS is going to be getting an allstar game in Toronto that gives them not only a crowd but also an atmosphere. That'll look good on TV in America.
  8. I'd like one as well. I'd also like to suggest that we take another look at http://www.cafepress.com/cp/customize/. Personally I'd like some simple apparrel with the Vees logo on it. With Cafepress they take care off all the ordering, order processing and payment as well as shipping. Just send a logo according to their specs, add a markup for a margin, and they do the rest. Offered as a suggestion to get some stuff in our hands relatively easily.
  9. When fans meet footballers and get their picture taken with them sometimes those photos end up on this page, http://timesonline.typepad.com/thegame/2008/07/football-smugsh.html If you scroll way down you'll see a shot of Danny Dichio with a young fan at BMO field.
  10. I don't have a problem with this. As much as I like Lenarduzzi and what he's done for the Whitecaps, his playing days and his achievements on the pitch, are over. There is a whole generation of fans ( potential fans ) who have no connection to him or his contribution to Canadian soccer. Nash on the other hand is from a younger generation and his involvement will appeal to them because they know him. And they grew up knowing him. Steve Nash will freshen up the the image of the Whitecaps and improve the overall brand of the Whitecaps in Vancouver and probably beyond. This is a good move to bring onboard British Columbia's most famous and accomplished athlete.
  11. It was nice to see De Ro get the toe poke he missed against Brazil. Anybody catch the slag the Houston commentators directed at the CSA? They got it wrong and called them the Canadian Soccer Federation but it was clear who they were talking about.
  12. Probably not a bad move considering their attendance this past season. http://stats.football365.com/dom/ENG/D2/attend.html
  13. I was wondering what Nutrilite is. It appears they are a vitamin company that sponsors Ronaldinho, and oh yeah, their products are available exclusively through Quixtar and Amway! http://www.nutrilite.com/ So I guess the CSA is now involved in Multi Level Marketing!
  14. Hope it means FSWC will show more MLS games.
