Can we just agree that Vanney isn’t a good coach ?

Stryker911 reacted to 1996 in 2019 CONCACAF U17 Championship
What I find strange about these kind of results and I’ve seen this in the past too, so an under 17 TFC Academy beats an U17 team like a Penerol. However, then a good portion of these same players go play on the U17 Canadian national team and have trouble beating Caribbean minnow Island teams or even an El Salvador or a Guatemala and crash out of the U17 World Cup Qualifying. You would think a Peñarol U17 team from Uruguay a country that produces players like Canada produces hockey players is much much better than most of these CONCACAF countries that Canada faces in these youth World Cup qualifying tournaments.

Stryker911 reacted to Gian-Luca in TFC 2019 Season
Didn't understand Vanney's 2nd & 3rd subs in this match. Down a goal so we take off Osorio for Ashtone Morgan? Not sure if he was supposed to play behind Morrow, in front of him, next to him or what.
And that's the 2nd game in a row where, needing a goal, we brought on Akinola for more offensive who was completely ineffective as a sub. I should hope given that Hamilton has 2 goals in 3 games this year that he gets the next chance to come off the bench instead of Akinola, though he wasn't even dressed for this one. Of the players who were dressed, in a game like that where it's pretty predictable that we'll be sending balls into the box from deep, why wouldn't you go with Boyd as the aerial threat? If you aren't going to play him in situations like this, I'm not sure what he's doing on the team, you might as well bring Ricketts back.

Stryker911 got a reaction from toontownman in Kamal Miller
Wow people are harsh on our CBs. One day Henry is getting criticized from a bad VAR call and now Miller from 2 Orlando goals.
First goal #2 runs over the ball handing it to the RSL forward and the second noone picks up a run to the top of the box. Neither can be pinned on Miller.

What I meant is that us and Costa Rica combined could beat Mexico.
Also I was comparing our core to Costa Rica not Mexico.

Stryker911 got a reaction from apbsmith in Gold Cup 2019
I was just thinking the same thing. Their defence and goalie are better than us, but I would take our midfield and forwards. (Combined we might actually be as good as Mexico)
Also, if you look at both teams top 15 players we have 3-4 that are over 28, while Costa Rica only has 3-4 under 28. In 3 or so years when they are gettin past their prime and our team is just entering it we should surpass them.

Nice draw USA lol....Canada/Mexico/Costa Rica all on one side of the bracket.
I'm sorry, but when only two teams advance from 1 group... two teams from the same group should not stay on the same side of the bracket, simply awful.
Would never happen in World Cup or Euro's etc. etc and should not be happening in our region either, it's embarra$$ing.
Anyways vent over, I actually like playing Mexico at altitude, will be great experience. On paper, if all things go as I predict, we should also cross over to get a match vs Costa Rica. All that I like :).

Stryker911 reacted to Blackjack15 in Dario Zanatta
- Has equaled his career best season
- named SPFL Team of the Week,
- Championship player of the month - December
- his game winner recently helped Alloa out of relegation zone
- 6 Goals and 12+ assists in 30 GP | 28 of them starts, 2514 Minutes played
- 3rd in Team scoring
Not bad at all for a 21 year old! The Victoria native midfielder is getting rave reviews in Scotland. I think next season we see him with Hearts as a squad player or on loan to a premiership side
Note: He's already played 500 minutes with Hearts in the top tier, he's more than capable of being there and pushing for a CanMNT Call Up

I think he’s more referencing the guy who barely gets touched in the lower body and then rolls around grabbing his face waiting for the penalty. Then miraculously with some spray he’s 100%.
That kind of thing grated on a lot of people.

Stryker911 reacted to Blackjack15 in Players you expect to see in the CPL
After the kit leaks, That means that there is now 20 maximum roster spots to fill should each club decide to finalize their 23 man rosters
Few thoughts & notes:
I think HFX are done and maybe sign a player in the July window after the spring season
MF | Draft Pick - Emmanuel Zambazis was also announced at York9's kit party reveal #14 in a poster aside from Ingham, Pena. [19 left]
Tommy Wheeldon Jr. Said In an interview that the final spot would be given to one of Gabriel Bitar/Easton Ingaro, both USports draft picks. Hope the other receives a developmental contract until August and preserves his college eligibility to return to school [18 left]
FC Edmonton have CB - Jackson Farmer and FB - Jordan Haynes both on trial, expect one or both to sign [16/17 left]
Molham Babouli is likely to sign with either York 9 or Forge after his season in the MASL ends on April 14th [15/16 left]
Forge: Should Hamilton opt to occupy their remaining 3 slots open, Got Game trialist - Taha Ilyass, USports draft picks; Mandekic, Sissoko, Kotsopolous As well as others + Babouli in the equation are all front runner candidates [12/13]
Valour: Louis Beland Goyette, the local 19-year old goalkeeper Svyatik Artemenko
who's Canadian-Ukrainan and was picked out at the Got Game a Trials in WPG last October along with Tyler Attardo, He played for Manitoba at the Canada Games, he's very much fighting to be the 3rd string keeper should Gale need it.
Ryan Brandt has pretty much hinted that "Edgar is coming to the CPL once his season is over in England and has one likely suitor." Well since he's the insider for Valour you can pretty much guess! Finally last but not least, the Uruguayan Legend Diego Forlan. He was rumoured to join a few months back, and it's almost a COINCIDENCE that he's in The DR at the exact same place and week doing a clinic, let's see if a deal gets done. [8/9 left]
Pacific have MF - Thomas Gardner and Trialist - Mamadi Camara at camp and they are the most talented of the Wolfpack who's in there, rumour has it Adam Straith wants to come home in Juky after his season in 3.Liga (Germany) is over and the transfer window opens. Also a few months back there was talk that Bob Lenarduzzi had met with Simpson and Friend about a few loans from the Whitecaps to Pacific
UBC players like; Zach verhoeven and nick Russell also in camp as draft picks. Zachary showed very well with TSS Rovers of the PDL last year, while nick was in the best XI of the freshman in the West division of USports
Local BC players: Elie Gindo, Jake Ruby, Cam Hundal and Chris Merriman all in camp.
Internationals: Shun Katano 🇯🇵 Ryan Mcurdy 🇮🇪 Sean Keith 🇺🇸 Cam seven 🇫🇷
Most these are defenders
[3-6 left]
So yeah, that's the summary! Hope we get an interesting out come in the coming weeks

Stryker911 reacted to Bison44 in Shamit Shome
He has to forget about it and move on, try and handle his piece of the puzzle better even if high priced internationals are playing like donkeys around him. I dont follow the impact as much as the other clubs (i never get them on my cable) but it sure seems like Garde nailed Hamel to the bench even when he had been producing (his amazing run in 2017). Maybe I am out to lunch but its hard not to be on the side of the local players. Cabrera makes 270, takes up an INT spot, while Piette makes 130, starts every game and plays well (95% of the time). Shome gets 200min last year to prove himself. And TMG keeps getting sent to the USL and he was very good for the fury last year. Hate to see our kids on such a short leash while MLS loudly proclaims "we play our kids".

Rubbish officials in Cardiff game. Missed an offside for Chelsea goal and maybe a straight red for Rudiger. Cardiff conceded a second and are now losing. As it stands 5 points from safety with a game in hand.
Now official

Stryker911 reacted to Watchmen in General - CONCACAF Nations League
Who the f*** cares what the USSF wants? I don't care if they think it will make them more money. That's irrelevant to the CSA.
Toronto/Vancouver for either match, and line up friendlies in nearby CPL cities.
-
Stryker911 got a reaction from MtlMario in General - CONCACAF Nations League
We should put the game against the US in either Edmonton or Winnipeg. Somewhere more difficult for them to get to. Last thing I want is for Toronto to be overrun by Americans.
-
Stryker911 reacted to Kent in General - CONCACAF Nations League
Yeah, seems they left their CONCACAF options open.
CONCACAF: "So Mexico and USA don't have to play against teams that are too far beneath them, we'll skip them into League A. We can say all Hex teams make it in."
Consultant: "OK, so then I guess Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama and Honduras will get seeded into the 4 groups since they were the top 4 teams in the Hex."
CONCACAF: "Um, that won't work. Let's use CONCACAF Ranking for that part."
Consultant: "OK then. I assume we will have a draw to place all the other teams into a bracket?"
CONCACAF: "Um, sure, we can do the draw for the groups, but let's hold off on how we will determine which semi-final teams are played in. I think there are a few ways we could do it and we'll pick the one that makes the most sense after the draw."

This also give Gent a lot of incentive to continue to give David prime minutes the rest of the year. As the better he plays the more teams will be willing to pay for him.
