  1. U.S. Women’s Soccer Team Sues U.S. Soccer for Gender Discrimination: https://www.nytimes.com/2019/03/08/sports/womens-soccer-team-lawsuit-gender-discrimination.html
  2. Draw to be held March 27 for pots. Rankings within leagues to be done as per CONCACAF Nov 2018 rankings according to the following report: https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2019/03/06/concacaf-nations-league-draw-be-held-later-month edit - CONCACAF's article: https://concacafnationsleague.com/en/article/2019-concacaf-nations-league-draw-to-take-place-march-27
  3. Why should TFC get a pass? VWFC were the top Canadian team last year. If the schedule necessitates a bye or easy match it should be Vancouver.
  4. I think this is a case of over thinking without looking at the numbers. The Nations League qualifiers have a relatively low "I score" (importance of match).See procedures: ttps://img.fifa.com/image/upload/edbm045h0udbwkqew35a.pdf These matches are being scored with an I of 15 (Group phase matches of Nations League competitions) not an I of 25 (Qualification matches for Confederations final competitions and for FIFA World Cup final competitions). It would be an interseting question for CONCACAF why these games are not scored with and I of 25. If you look back over the last 3 games Canada has gained only 3 or 4 points per match. Curacao is 8 points back. We are not being passed in 1 game. If Curacao win against Antigua and Barbuda they will be sitting at 1311 points. Canada is already at 1314. edit: just to be fair, Curacao play Guadeloupe last month and got 0 points for that game. In a game with an I of 15, if you win an even match you get 7.5 points. If the worst team in the world beat the best (854 point to 1727 points) they would only gain 14.5 points. The new ranking system never drops games after x number of years (4 under the previous system). Our bad results from the past are not being erased any more. This is a long haul for Canada. We need Gold Cup points (I of 35 or 40) to make up an serious ground on the top 6 of CONCACAF.
  5. My recollection is that Mauro Rosales was credited with helping the Spanish speakers feel included and coached. He was first here for a full season in 2015, in Dallas in 2016, and back in 2017. It was his work with the team, not is play credited for is return in 2017. It seems that was considered a missing element in 2016.
  6. It is not my assertion, it is directly quoting J.J. Adams in the article. I assume he has a source on this info and an editor he needed to convince of the accuracy of it.
  7. Robinson had to go , but it seems that the front office was throwing him anchors when he need a life preserver: https://theprovince.com/sports/soccer/mls/whitecaps-have-fired-head-coach-carl-robinson "For example, the coaching staff hadn’t planned on bringing Brek Shea back for this season. But by playing in a playoff game last year, it triggered an automatic player-option year. The coaching staff reportedly mitigated his minutes during the season, but the decision was made somewhere in the team’s murky bureaucratic depths to play him against Seattle, activating the clause."
  8. Could someone please explain how Davies has domestic status in Germany? I've seen this alluded to a few times.
  9. Yet in the web page text it lists Derek Martin as President. Copy and paste error?
  10. Doneil is being called back to Whitecaps: Whitecaps article "We’ve got [Doneil Henry] out on loan at the moment, he’s played three good games for Ottawa, and Doneil will be back.” Robinson said Henry is expected back from loan next week. In the three games he has played thus far, Ottawa has yet to concede a goal.
  11. Seems Warner park has a soccer pitch Map According to the wiki page for 2018 qualifying USVI played at a Jr. High School instead of the baseball diamond Map
  12. Earliest WCQ could start is the 23–31 March 2020 dates. At that time the Nations League will only have 4 teams left so assuming no miracles occur some low rank minnow games could start there if qualification is similar to last time. If WCQ ends up more like EUFA with more groups of varying quality then the June 2020 window would be the start (and would likely be the start for Canada either way). Realistically I hope no one is playing qualifying matches in September 2022 for the World Cup set to begin in November. That may require that inter conference playoffs occur in 30 May-14 June 2022 window. This may leave June 2020 to March 2022 as the window with 20 match days (according to the dates @Lou supplied) to finish do qualifying.
