I'd try Belgium or D2 Spain. Plenty of time to come home. D2 Spain is risky - he needs to get playing time; if he gets it though, he's golden.
Is Spain D2 much higher than Belgium Div !?

I mostly agree with this.
Oddly enough, I am simultaneously not that concerned about Larin's form for Canada (his driving form on the other hand...), but also happy to have someone else get a shot. Have Larin come on for the last 20 or 30 minutes of a game and maybe he gets a goal that way. I really don't think it's a crazy idea to have AJH start a game, what does the poor guy have to do to get a start in MLS or national team play?!?!?! Even if Cavallini is impressive in camp I would be fine with seeing him get a start over Larin.
On the topic of his supposed sitter, am I the only one that didn't think it was that trivial a finish to make? It looked like to me his run was to the near post or even somewhat headed to beside the net. A ball across like that needs a pretty decent touch to have it just change angle but continue going right to left in order to hit the net. It's pretty easy on those kind of runs to have your attempted finish take a 90 degree turn instead of a slight deflection. Were there any other chances he missed? I thought he did really well battling a guy that was fouling him as he was running down the ball from Borjan and did well to get a decent shot on goal with his left. I can't remember any other chances to be honest.
That was a great ball from Borjan by the way. Borjan impressed in this game (now back to Larin being an idiot for drunk driving)

I think the point is the deeper the player pool the more options we have irrespective of who the player might be. Maybe Bunbury would have made little difference but the fact that he would have been an option AND created competition so perhaps made others work harder/play smarter would be a benefit.

This type of thing happens the world over and we might again benefit from it with david wotherspoon.
Imo I think if they are getting subsidized and cash in the pocket by the canadian government to be coached through the system that is the point they should be signing some type of commitment to the national program.
If they want to go elsewhere it should be at the discretion of the csa and the player should potentially have to pay back any money given him and possibly compensation should be given by the opposite FA.
I know football is already too much of a business but I don't think countries should be piggy backing off others programs when they can grow their own.
I get dual nationalities and family conflicts I understand and respect players decisions and right to make them in those cases. However I don't think the programs that have supported them (if they have) should be shafted.
This is silly talk. What if a player doesn't try as much as they should and never hit their potential? Do they owe their money back? What if a player realizes they aren't going to be the next Messi - so they quit early on but they've take money? Do they give money back. No. None of this happens. If you get your funding, you get it. We don't come and claw it back. Just as much as we don't claw back the education or health care funding a person might have used as a Canadian when they were growing up and then moved to another country as an adult. Time for people to put on their big kids pants and realize that we live in a country that allows free choice. He can play for our country or not. Period. What he received as far as funding is concerned is a non issue.

I am too, but unfortunately there aren't a lot of alternatives.
If a quality player refuses a call up to 'keep their options open' or 'focus on his club situation' or 'focus on getting a new contract' or... we can either leave the door open to their future interest or close it by never calling them again. But if they are skilled - and the signs point to Tabla being a quality player - it just isn't realistic to shut the door on them. Hoillet is a great example of this - didn't commit to us for a long time (presumably to test the waters elsewhere) but made a huge impact when he decided to pull on the maple leaf. Despite his obvious ambitions elsewhere, we simply couldn't afford to close the door on a player of that calibre.
Unfortunately it will mean we are stuck as the less popular kid who is just hoping a few people come to his 9th birthday. But then only 2 people show up. And one of them was his cousin. Despite the fact that it could have been a great party with some really fun stuff and an awesome cake that my mom made... But I digress.
Sounds like you had a tough childhood.

Good news for Monsalve. Maybe he can get back in the national team picture:
Huge congrats to @davidamonsalve who has signed for the Swedish div. 1 club @HusqvarnaFF -
I imagine Straith -- he's out of contract now. For fun, how about Cavallini!

Fair enough. You need to post the interview so we all have the same insights!

Happy to stand corrected. I just don't like making assumptions off Instagram photos.

A picture of some teammates playing guitar is hardly any indication that he's tight with anybody. Lots of photos of lots of people together. Doesn't mean a thing.

Henry could have done better getting back on the goal and James could have had a better attempt to stop the cross. They all looked gassed -- Hondurans looked like they could run all day.

I fear Henry is slowly but surely going to be buried at West Ham. Byram is good and has played well with Leeds. Henry needs to get transferred in this window if he is ever going to see the pitch this season.

Transfer day today. Any word for Henry? I've sifted through the web and the only thing I have seen (all rumours)is that he might be straight up released from his contract after the deadline is over. another one is that he'll be sent to Bristol as part of a larger deal. I hope he goes somewhere soon and doesn't drift into nothingness.
