I think most who voted to join this unknown league didn’t fully understand how shady the CPL and CONCACAF were and voted with their hearts not their minds. As the season progresses I can see more Fury fans realizing the league they are in is stable and of a higher quality. IF the CPL comes begging maybe the Fury should consider allowing the CPL to make some changes to the way they do things; then they may have to make a decision. Maybe.
Just like your post Winnipeg Fury. But opposite view.

I'm refering to formal minor league affiliate/reserve agreement like USL has, not a singular loan like what you mentioned.
I expect there will be some loans here and there with MLS franchises, like FC Edmonton has had in the past in NASL, just no formal minor league agreements allowed thankfully as that would undermine CPL as a D1 league.

There was a twitter poll around the time of the sanctioning bruhaha and as far as I remember about 60% saying they wanted Ottawa to go CPL and about 30% saying stay in USL.

OSEG spinning their false narrative of CPL bullying the Fury probably temporilly bumped up that number.  OSEG/Fury chose not to be part of this adventure and every week it's looking like they made a really bad decision.  On top of that, instead of trying to build bridges, they continue to take cheap shots at the league.
I suspect all the initial concessions the CPL were originally making to OSEG will be off the table once OSEG does try and enter CPL.  And so they should be.
This season they should have been favoured to win a Canadian championship in CPL, instead they will have a meaningless sub par season in purgatory.

Who's forcing a rivalry of the only two teams in Ontario? This game was always going to be a derby as was Edmonton/Calgary. If there are ever two teams in Quebec that will also be one. Any teams in Canada where fans driving to an away is reasonable will be considered derbies in the North American context.

And for the record: the moment it was confirmed that there would be a team here and in Halifax, we (the fans) started thinking of it as a #sea2sea derby because it's hilarious for the fact that "away" support will be rare and pretty magnificent in it's likely small numbers (if at all).

I'm surprised there is so much talk about MLSE and CPL here, when if anything it is the only of the MLS teams to have its territory directly "challenged", where you could potentially go to TFC and York9 on the same half day. How could that benefit TFC? How could having a CPL team in any way counter that, especially when it would probably have to be outside of Greater Toronto?
My view is that all three MLS teams have it in their best interest to not allow CPL to succeed too close to their turf. Everything they are doing should work against it, since CPL can potentially cut into their revenue streams, hurt their Canadian narrative and show up their relatively mediocre (ok to just bad) development of Canadian players.
In fact, Bunbury in Montreal has made an effort to say he spoke to Saputo. And I did hear a brief rumour or comment that the Whitecaps had to some degree had a hand in freezing out the CPL project for the Fraser Valley.
Let's be honest: CPL cannot be good for MLS in any terms. The Canadian MLS teams have weak requirements for Canadian players, so it does not even give them a feeder system of any use. From their perspective, any actions taken would involve walking softly and carrying a big stick.
This is why I say we cannot be naive and cannot trust them, we have to more forward in CPL and not let anything in MLS condition the league, as we get our feet on the ground during the first few years. Including accepting any sort of direct or majority shareholder interest from the MLS teams in a CPL club.

They seem to work closely with Bein Sports:

so I suspect CanPL games will be getting a regular airing around the world as filler content in that sort of context, which helps generate revenue to cover the cost of the "investment" made where broadcast quality livestreams are concerned. Should also boost the number of eye balls for sponsorship deals with globally relevant companies like VW.

With Rollins tweet of TFC wanting a formal arrangement with Ottawa Fury (minor league affiliate/farm team) this would likely keep the Fury out of the CPL as Canada's Div 1 does not want any minor league affiliates/farm teams as they would undermine the league.
Fury may have "exceptional circumstances" with such an arrangement and remain in USL indefinitely, and imo its better they stay in USL if they want to remain a minor league team to a parent MLS club.
Put a CPL club in the Ottawa suburb of Gatineau or wait out the Fury till they sell or fold.

Are you serious? How is the CPL is getting nothing out of the deal?

FFS a few months ago we were discussing how the league might have to pay for broadcasts and and now somehow you imagine that a $200M deal is a bad thing?!!?

You have been asked where you "heard" the league was in disarray - which is the foundation of many of your claims.  You haven't indicated any sort of reliable source.  Instead, you seem to want to antagonize the pro-CPL folks on this thread - which is about an Ottawa based CPL club after all.
If you have something of substance that backs up your claims, by all means share it.  Otherwise, don't be surprised when people accept the hundreds of millions on investment made by astute business people as a more solid indication of probable success than an anonymous internet poster claiming he "heard" something.

Heard where? Why don't you elaborate instead of ducking the question?
Goes against what most others are saying and the facts of what the CPL has so far accomplished. The league is getting very good PR on how its launching the league from quite a few places.
Think I know who you are from another medium, and what you claim your hearing and who its from is of no concern.

Keep hearing the CPL is going to have a really difficult season. The whole thing was rushed, sponsors are not happy and they can’t attract enough decent players to build rosters. At this point glad the Fury didn’t get involved in this amateur hour operation.

Could be. My source was being cagey and I got no details beyond the $$ amount which I understood was "the deal" for the CanPL.

I'm just sitting here in Victoria stunned by the size, scope, and partner of the deal, after already being floored by the signing of Marcel de Jong.

If this doesn't shut up the doubters, they are just trolls.

This has made the Spanish economic press today, in Expansión, which is one of the two leading economic dailies.

A few things that perhaps were not clear in the other articles.
One is that that they will open up a Toronto office, and that CSB sold the rights through ThePostGame (their article is here: http://www.thepostgame.com/canadian-soccer-business-premier-league-mediapro ), who were the brokers of the deal. They were hired by CSB last August.
Second, that they have the rights to the NTs, male and female, for home games, so I imagine they will actually start to encourage them to be organised (maybe we can get some minimums beyond official matches) .
The set-up is predicted to be OTT, over-the-top, which is full media offer, usually free access, through the internet. They are going to produced regular programmes on the sport and documentaries, which is one of Media PRO's specialities.
One of the key points is the intention to fully professionalise football broadcasting in Canada, I suppose they are talking about production values.
It also mentions that they currently have the league rights in relatively small markets, if that were a doubt, like Slovenia, Kenya, Angola, Bolivia, so they seem to be willing to work with more modest scales along with heftier ones.

The CPL is owned by the clubs, and the CPL clubs owners own the CSB so it could be said they are essentially one and the same.
