This looks about right to me. I think Froese gets in there somewhere when he's healthy (prob after Teibert at the moment).

Forgot about him... I hope he gets some good minutes this season.

I would add David Wotherspoon to the list. Surely he's ahead of Chapman or Fraser.

    You're right.

I was mainly doing CM, CAM, and CDMS.... Should've noted that. But then I realized Wotherspoon has recently shifted into the middle for his club side.

Because hey, he's younger than Osorio and has the same number of caps for Canada, why would that get him a call-up, right?

But you are being pretty sure about MAK getting that sure call-up for Dominica, I mean, he was definitely the guy we needed there. Now you are probably worried about him not being there, aren't you? We are really going to suffer without Kaye, good call.

We're talking about Teibert right? We're talking about the fact that based on the season MAK had, he would've been called up possibly over RT if you're looking at the midfield depth chart... Let me list it for you:

    1. Arfield

    2. Hutchinson

    3. Osorio

    4. Piette

    5. MAK

    6. Wotherspoon

    7. Tiebert

    8. Johnson

    9. Fraser

    10. Chapman

This is not including the players who are currently being courted like Eustaqiuo, who would move into the top.....but ask your analytics guy what he thinks.

  4. lol Blame Robinson for him re-signing with the club. Teibert is comparable to Ashtone Morgan in regard to production. Been on the team for a long time, has some good spurts, but nothing to talk about.

I'm happy Russel has had a good run of games, I've liked him from when he was on the on U14 Ontario Provincial team, and I was U16....but the reality is he's at the age where he needs to be consistently playing.

To think if MAK never got injured, I don't think he would be remotely close to a call-up (unless a bunch of guys don't show up or retire)

Name a big no. 9 that can do this. The majority need service or are role players that hold up the ball.

Higuain, Lewandowski, Muller, Morata, Wagner Love in his prime, Tammy Abraham, Diego Costa, Harry Kane, CR7, Cavani, Benzema, Balotelli .... I can go on just gave you a few recent guys young and old.

Sorry to say but that was a dumb question or you don't watch much ball.

His job is to get into the correct position and score...and he executed that pretty well today.

You're right, but I was more insinuating that some strikers/forwards can create their own goals...his game is to "get into the correction position" to receive "good service".

Rarely will you see him beat a man 1v1 and score.

Siebatcheu of France U21 and Rennes, Maurice Malone of Germany U18 and Augsburg, and Folarin Balogun of England U17 and Arsenal are the big three US-eligibles who are highly regarded. They are all CFs/strikers who would almost certainly be above Akinola's caliber. Malone is yet another German-American with an American military father, while Siebatcheu and Balogun were born in Washington and New York respectively. And for wingers, there is Timothy Tillman of Germany U19 and Bayern, Sam Shashoua of England U18 and Tottenham, both have American military fathers.

The US may not be able to get all of these five, but it's pretty much guaranteed that they will get at least one of them, and probably more than one. France, Germany, and England have so much competition at the youth level, and the US national team can offer them a way out to still (likely) make a World Cup.

Canada cannot turn away from Akinola just because he's picked the US initially. Many players have strong loyalties to multiple nations. He probably feels strongly Canadian, having lived there for most of his life, and would be very glad to represent Canada.

I wanted to avoid doing what you did, (listing some of the potential players) but I agree 1000% with what you've stated.

  8. The reality is as much dual nationals we have, the USA has just as much if not more. And just as tangible a World Cup is for them, it is for us as well.

Players like Ayo are competing with a whole lot more players than we think, so I think he's definitely thinking about Canada.
