Is Forge even going to have a full team to start the season? Kind of lagging behind with 8 signings.

Well, guys who are producing numbers half decently in higher divisions are out of reach so this is the type of “project” player you’d be wise to go after.  6’5 and a nose for goal.. ya never know.
There actually was a Canadian/Slavic  striker who did decently at the 3rd division level and had a stint in the second division a few years back (never got a Canada call obviously).. anyone remember who I’m talking about?  I don’t know what happened with him.

Why don't we see how this league goes before we start talking about (unlikely) double franchise cities?

What I find most surprising is how Montserrat could be at the Gold Cup. Currently sitting in 13th (could drop 1 or 2 more spots with the remaining matchday 3 games), I assume they will beat Cayman Islands in their last game with the results they've had so far. With that and a few draws between other evenly matched clubs on matchday 4, a team that ranked 205 in the FIFA rankings before this tournament, could qualify for the Gold Cup.

This is what I’m hoping for as well.  If we had 3 regional leagues that operated like in Germany (im not sure how the promotion relegation works there.. i.e if two teams from the same region were relegated from the B3 but they make it work so I’m sure we could make it work).
Im sure there wasn’t much of a fee involved here as it is a no brainer for L1O.  Another thing Ottawa is missing out on..
Im hoping these clubs aren’t direct affiliates like NA minor league teams but feeder clubs.  It will be interesting to see how this affects TFC Academy as well, depending on the arrangements.  I.e if you can play L1O and have the chance to be called up to first team CPL every so often why play for TFC III in the same league and be 2++ steps away from the first team?
Hopefully we are taking advantages of the short comings of MLS.  Beat them by doing things from a true footballing perspective and you’ll make MLS development a plan B.

Talking weeks until signings. Not really news considering Y9 already said last month their first player signing will be revealed at an event on the 28th of this month I believe.
Other than that, there are a couple interesting tidbits in here:
Gale: “We have an international standard winger from South America who’s interested in coming,”
Gale added he’s also working to establish an ongoing loan agreement with a club competing in a top European league.

This is where I see the schedule come in to play. Once there's a list of games people can actually see, they may be more inclined to buy season seats.

It being the largest metro area doesn't make it more likely to have a spike for no apparent reason in memberships. If anything the opposite would be true. If it was so likely to have a lot of memberships, why now and not originally?
My best guesses would be that it's either the availability of tickets to be purchased, or maybe there is something related to them targeting youth clubs. Like, maybe they had a window to buy memberships at a reduced price (or receive them free) that just recently opened up.
Anyways, it's good to see the raised numbers. Hopefully it translates to ticket sales!

There is no chance people are paying $50 membership fees.  They’re inflating their numbers (as all teams should be doing!!).  Think about it.. you give someone a free membership, how does that hurt you? You lose nothing and build hype.  Maybe the first smart move this organization has made removing that stain.
you would have to be ignorant to think they’ve overnight jumped up to a respectable number from 150..

That's one of the biggest points IMO. I do not want to pay $399 + taxes and fees to a 15-time free for all for the best seat in the grandstand. What about if I get up to get concessions? Do I lose my spot and have to find a new one? It's a possibility because there's no way of controlling where people sit. All seems like a hassle for $399+.
The most I want to pay for a GA seat in bleachers is 10-15 a game. It just seems crazy that a team in a tier one professional football league will have GA bleacher season seating in the first place.

I admit that the couple of hundred dollars won't change my life and I am fortunate in that regard - my issue with Y9 is that no one wants to feel like a "sucker" and customers are getting smarter in understanding the value of the tickets they are buying more than ever --- how many $6 stubhub seats (works out to about $13Canadian all in with fees) does one have to see online before one feels stupid about buying Jays tickets for $30 plus in the 500Level from the box office (I know I won't make that mistake again this year) - 900,000 less seats were sold last year to the Jays --- they will sell less this year too as they have not changed their pricing structure to reflect the lower demand for their product.....people are getting smarter about their spending habits in this regard because frankly while there are a lot of wealthy people in the GTA, the middle class is eroding and having a family and living in the suburbs is way more expensive than ever and that is Y9's target market - suburban families (houses have went up 3-4X on my street in the last decade --- incomes have not gone up at anywhere near the same rate unfortunately)........
I had Argos tickets the last few years (and have had in the past at various points) and frankly I felt that I was basically donating money to support Canadian Football (they should have sent me a tax receipt - ha ha ha) - the tickets had zero value and that was at $20 or so a seat (and that was a rolled back price in 2018 from even dumber prices in 2017) --- and once they started under-cutting ST prices through groupon and the like (I could buy a seat better than mine for $12-$15 through various promotions that the team themselves would email me?! how insane is that? why would I possibly buy seasons tickets again?) --- doesn't the CPL sound a little CFL like in that we should all just be spending our money (who cares about value) to "donate" to the idea of Canadian Soccer --- ummm, nice idea, but how has that model worked out for the Argos over the years.....if I know I can buy tickets for significantly less when the event occurs (and you will), and there is no built up demand for me to offset my costs for games I can't go to (most people aren't attending every game) - it's simply a poor investment, and no one I know likes to waste money, no matter whether they can afford it or not.....
TFC rolling back prices was the smartest thing they ever did --- I know that I probably would have left as a STH had they not done so as my reserved tickets (light greys) would  not have had the same value at twice the price  (mine went down about 1/2)....the fact that even after winning a lot in 2016-2017 that my tickets only went up fractionally (from about $18 or so a ticket to about $21 or so a ticket in the last 3 years) means I will keep those seats as I feel that MLSE didn't gouge me when they clearly "could have" as the popularity and success and demand was there --- even if they went to about $25 I would stay even after this crappy year as they have built up my loyalty to the brand by respecting me as a customer over the years -- if they got closer to $30 I would probably seriously consider dropping them unless I saw a value in them at that time.....everything has a value price point for people --- I simply think in the GTA for minor league soccer and with an unreserved seat (?!) that their price points are ridiculous -- I've heard people were told derisively to "come early" to get a better seat; not everyone has hours to spend before the game to sit in an empty stadium so that they can get a better seat -- some people are elderly or have kids and that is simply not feasible.....
I had four TFC season seats last year and was going to go down to two, to buy two Y9 season tickets to support that endeavour --- TFC has reached out to me asking what could they do to bring me back this week (bending over backwards trying to keep me) --- apparently all it took was Y9 fumbling their pitch to make me go back to TFC with my money.....I'm a big believer that you only have one chance to make a good first impression and Y9 in my opinion clearly has not made one in mine and a lot of other people's eyes.....

Have they looked at other team's pricing models? Costs less in a less competitive market for an actual assigned seat that you want to sit in for 15 games, not a free for all for the best seat in the grandstand (unless you want to pay $500 for a club seat).
I mean, I can't say I would've expected them to say anything different, but come on. You don't even get an official kit...

Good lord, I knew it was kind of odd, but never even looked into the team. 2nd last on the table in DR league, last win coming back in June. Only one of two on the entire season. You're right, I bet trialists, a L1 or PLSQ team could handily beat this team. Denmark was one thing, they're a decent football nation, but a lower lever team from DR? What a waste of time and money. If they`re gonna go anywhere in Central America/Carribean to scout, at least go to Honduras, CR, maybe Panama. Or just simply stay at home and dig deep.
Not sure many people are gonna want to spend $400 to watch 15 games of bush league Dominican players in non-assigned seats.

Is this a joke?  These guys are disasters.  Let’s head to a resort in Punta Cana for talent for a league that will be 60% Canadian.
    This team: https://uk.soccerway.com/teams/dominican-republic/inter-rd/42587/
If there are Canadians on that team they should have been at the open tryouts.. not getting a visit from club owners.  They may as well just scout the open tryouts.. I’d be willing to bet we could put together a team or two of trialists that could win the Dominican league.
Im sure people are going to be clamouring for $30 tickets when they see your stud signings from the Dominican...

So let me get this straight...
Close proximity to TFC, making it the most competitive market in the CPL, and the cheapest season seat for an average of around $30 a game, is close to if not more than TFC tickets in certain cases. Add in non-assigned seating, and only a scarf with the purchase of a season seat, this puts York9 in a very bad position. Can't even offer a jersey? Other teams in less competitive (if at all) markets are offering an official kit with the purchase of season's seats. Like CDNFootballer said, the team really needs to add a $299 section in, because they are going to struggle big time. Already had a feeling York9 would be the likely candidate for a team to possibly fold in this league, and this reaffirmed that feeling.
