MLS dropped their full schedule today.
Toronto FC is scheduled for a home game on the CPL opening weekend April 26th to 28th (?)
TFC plays Portland at BMO Field Saturday at 3:00pm.
I'd say best not to have York 9 play their first home game that day.  Have them play Sunday or on the road that first weekend.
The next weekend TFC is out of town.
I'd say now the CPL officials have the MLS schedule and can work around it.  ie don't have York 9 play a home game on the same day as a TFC home game and not at the same time of the same day if TFC is on the road.
Remember the same old, same old, members of the media will be covering both leagues (except CPL in-house) and after the novelty they may not make the headlines again (think the MASL Mississauga MetroStars drawing a few hundred fans and now even their line-scores don't make the Star's sports page...I haven't heard Rollins mention them after that first home game).
If there is a TV deal, CPL (or the network) may NOT want to play a game against any Canadian team's MLS game timeslot.

No mention of his 2018 season in League 1 Ontario starting the year for Darby FC (3 regular season and 2 in League Cup) then on Alliance United (11 regular season and 2 playoff games).  A combined 9 goals.   He moved up to forward last season.    He took most of the freekicks and cornerkicks.
He played for TFC III (becoming captain) and TFC II before that starting as a defender but allowed to run up the wing as time went on.

Here he is as recently as October 4th in a playoff game vs eventual champs Vaughan Azzurri....photos at the bottom of him taking two freekicks.

I don't remember Steven Hoyle but I've got him in some of my game reports.  He played for Toronto Lynx PDL in 2013 in a season where they finished pretty decently with 5 wins, 7 losses, 2 ties for 17 points and missed the playoffs by 1 point (5th of 7 teams) behind two teams with 18 points.

    Mississauga shuts out Tropics, 10-0

MISSISSAUGA, Canada – The Florida Tropics fell to the Mississauga MetroStars, 10-0, in a Major Arena Soccer League game Saturday afternoon.
The majority of the Tropics roster did not dress for the game because of Canadian immigration work laws, forcing the team to sign most of their players for Saturday's game that already lived in the greater Toronto area.
    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
LAKELAND, Fla. – The Florida Tropics SC have signed seven players that may be activated for Saturday's Major Arena Soccer League in Mississauga. Per league and team policy, terms of the agreements were not disclosed.
Signed are: Edgar Gamboa, Mario Orestano, Marko Bedenikovic, Josue Jaramillo, Eduardo Jauregui, Diego Gonzalez, Nikola Miodrag and Milos Scepanovic
The player signings were necessitated by fear of Canadian Immigration laws, which may hinder a number of Tropics players from crossing the border in time for the game. This type of roster activity is not unprecedented in professional sports which has seen similar travel issues preclude competition for athletes originating from certain countries.

I recognize at least five of these guys from CSL (the outlaw league) when I followed it before L1O started.
MetroStars won't have long to wait for their second home game as it's Thursday night at 7:30pm against Kansas City.
I don't know what the media coverage will be.  Will Rollins be there again?  Neil Davidson who wrote some pregame stuff was tweeting Saturday from the MMA fights in downtown Toronto rather than being in Mississauga.
Will Canadian border officials keep KC players from crossing?

December 1, 2018 I've compiled a list of L1O guys who've signed or successfully trialed for the new CPL. I've also included those recently signed with the new Mississauga MetroStars MASL team.

I expect to keep adding to the list as we get closer to CPL kickoff.

So far 31 guys from 2018 L1O rosters, 12 'alumni' ie. those who left L1O before 2018 season began.
