Rocket Robin got a reaction from Kadenge in TFC 2018-2019 Off-season
Still TFC has more American nationals than Canadians.
A big reason for more Canadian minutes last year was TFC had to use almost a split squad playing weekends in MLS and Wednesdays in CCL for so long.
Listen to who answers first my question around the 36 minute mark at the TFC fan forum before their game against Vancouver....  I asked that more GAM and TAM (which had recently been announced a few weeks before this October 6th game) was pushing the Canadian players further down the list--down to one starter--Osorio.  It was Gareth Wheeler who was the MC.
    http://www.rocketrobinsoccerintoronto.com/reports18/18tfc045.htm
Not Bill Manning nor Tim B--(Tim B who over the years was very supportive and convinced me that the results of TFC II in USL were unimportant in the long term for developing players that I truly bought in).   Their answer was building up the Academy. (although I've been hearing that since 2008).
It was Canadian Wheeler cutting me off with "Do you want to win or do you want to see Canadians play?"  Wheeler is the voice of TFC II on their broadcasts so nice pissing on 90% young Canadians on that team.  I'm sure he'll still be there accepting a paycheque this season.
I figures BBTN would 'like' your post.  I've always found him pro-American.  I don't want to look back in the archives three years ago when he was able to solve Canada's soccer problems by saying that we should just have more Canadian USL teams with a strict minimum of (two?) starters on each team.  "We don't need a Canadian league!"
I bet the first rain storm that limits a CPL crowd to less than 3000 BBTB will scream "failure' and 'the novelty has worn off'.
For me in 2019, I'm all in for York 9 (that's instead of TFC after 12 years of never missing a game including some replays played the next day) but hope to still have time to hit 50+ League 1 Ontario matches (that's supplying more than half the York 9 and Forge rosters so far) and TFC II again with their almost all Canadian lineup.

From what I heard at the York 9 pub night, we SSH will get round trip bus transportation from the new team sponsor 'The TOK Group', a ticket to the game, and "our own section".*
*I suspect away from other groups so it wouldn't surprise me if they even open one section in the upper deck even if it is for only that one game all season.

Also, what do fans in London England do? They have Tottenham, Chelsea, Arsenal, Watford, West Ham, Crystal Palace, and Fulham all playing within hours and they can't all be out of town on the same weekend right? Maybe like them it's time to make a choice!

If the CPL really has a rumoured deal with TSN then CPL game at 1pm leading into 3pm TFC game then maybe Vancouver will turn into an overlong day of TV for most fans without moving off their couch.

CPL Second weekend would be May 3-5th.
TFC plays in Orlando Saturday the 4th at 4:00pm.
I expect York 9 will get their first home game that weekend.
From Thursday pub night with the team I heard their preference is Saturday afternoons but I wonder if they will play a different day or a night game to ensure TV coverage (if any) and the TFC fans watching TSN at home or bars.

Or much more likely, they don’t anticipate every one of their season ticket holders to make the trip.

At the pub night for York 9 last night, one of the team staff said there would be times that would be games the same day as TFC (although they would try to avoid them) and they would try to have them hours apart.  Once he mentioned the new Pioneer Village subway stop which is only the length of the football stadium from Alumni Field, that means that it's one subway line ride downtown and then a streetcar-right-of-way right to BMO Field so two hours between an end of game and start of another!
Also remember that TTC allows free parking in their subway lots on weekends.  I used that to benefit last year to pull off a TFC III at Downsview (then parked at Wilson station) and rode to BMO Field to watch a TFC/TFC II doubleheader last summer.
The York staffer last night said they are aiming for a preference of Saturday afternoon games.

Yeah The TOK Group was announced as a sponsor of the team. They are a transportation company and will provide coaches (ie buses) to get us to the game. In theory we will be in the stadium by 11:30am. The (20+) buses will be scattered around the York 9 area for pick ups. I put together this info at the put night at Shoeless Joe's in Woodbridge.
(the pub night on Monday was cancelled because of the weather so this was the first).
I don't know what next week's surprise will be if every pub event will be breaking news.
Ooh 6 second mark of that video I've got my hand up wearing a plaid shirt!

Dieu Merci Yuma joined Sanjaxx Lions late in the 2018 season in L1O and scored 6 goals in 7 games. Sanjaxx ended up scoring 14 goals in league play all year so in his short time scored almost half their goals.  Their final game of the season they had a chance of making the playoffs but Yuma was late arriving so was subbed in at halftime.
I've got info of how he got back to L1O after his travels from the mother of teammate Nicholas Charles and put some details in my game report September 23rd against Alliance.
