He's already in Italy so chances are high he'll start there...

ZBG looked confident and superb out there & Piette was an absolute beast.
All other Canadians held there own, especially like @Obinna stated, an away game vs one of top rated MLS teams. Was nice to see Shome given another shot after the 7-0 thumping a few weeks back.

They did!
Game finished 0-0. Great away performance against one of the highest rated MLS teams in 2019. Piette was immense, and ZBG did not disappoint. The other Canadians held there own out there as well, but too bad AJH couldn't get on the scoresheet in his opportunity, chances have been hard to come for him.

cronaldo7 reacted to Obinna in Scott Arfield
It's actually a good team, we have.
I mean, Arfield would probably get into the USA squad with regularity. Several years in the Prem and now scoring 10 goals on the season at Rangers. Like, Timothy Weah is on loan there, at Celtic. It's only been since January, and he doesn't have half the goals Arfield has, and he's an out and out attacker.
Meanwhile, David is a legit young talent. Scoring in Belgium regularly at the age of 19. That's a pretty big deal for any player, let alone one from Concacaf. I wouldn't call it an exaggeration to say he's a top 5 prospect in Concacaf, and he's our player.
Then, Davies is a scale on top of that. Now that he's gone to Europa and actually played a little bit at Bayern, he's getting even more attention in the soccer world. And it's not an exaggeration to say he's a top 10 prospect in the world. He would walk into any team in our region.
And Cavallini, you can't forget about his contributions in Mexico. A lot of people are taking notice now. Matt Doyle brought him up recently, giving him props for all the goals in Liga MX. That's a league the Americans respect. They would love to have a striker scoring regularly for them at that level right now.
Hoilett is also a respectable player. Playing in the Premier League (once again) and even scoring 3 goals. Again, I don't think an American has done that this season, right?
I honestly can't wait until we play the Americans. I think American fans are going to be taken by surprise. They will still largely ignore us until we put a good run together, but on paper this team should be very difficult for both the US and Mexico. Davies alone would be a challenge for both, let alone David and Hoilett also causing issues, Arfield making life difficult in the midfield, and Cavallini making himself a presence in the box. At the very least we should prove to be as annoying to them as Costa Rica for the next few years.

Arfield, Davies, Hoilett, Cav, David on the field together at the same time, and in form, Yes Please!!!
We can go back and forth about the specific formations and specific positions on the field of each of these guys (let Herdman figure that out)...
Those 5, still leaves us with 5 defensive minded players on the field & lots of offensive quality options off the bench.
Honestly, can't wait.

I think that a certain % of the elite talent will always go to europe. Its not really a crack in the system when a kid is uber talented and has decided he wants to go to europe. I am pretty sure he had some sort of work out with at least TFC but didnt want to go that route. The 1% kids are probably going to make it whether they go to europe or MLS (Davies/David) but if we have 7 CPL teams beating the bushes for less obvious talent scattered across the country it has to help. There is going to be a whole generation of pre teens today that are going to have every opportunity to make their mark in pro soccer right here in canada.

Looks like he made it to YVR after all. Hard to question his commitment to the team if he's flying half way across the world to cheer on the boys. Great to see

cronaldo7 reacted to Grizzly in The Importance of Alphonso Davies
This seems like too much information! I wonder even if it is true or it is Herdman just over dramatizing the situation and trying to make himself look good in the process. I don't know about Davies personality but if it was 18 year old Grizzly I would not be happy about reading something like this even if it was true. It is nice to know he cares about playing and was disappointed but "The kid was devastated!" would have been sufficient. Yes we have to wait until we see how the team plays against good competition to judge Herdman's abilities but it seems like every time he opens his mouth alarm bells go off in my head saying, "Amateur level coach".

Just finished watching the 30 minutes he was on the pitch. As someone mentioned above, he didn't put a foot wrong. He also took a bunch of risks and they worked out brilliantly (had a lovely nutmeg on the touchline, a great looping overhead ball that was not easy to take and his finish was very well taken and not easy). You could kind of see it coming, he had a bit of swagger in his body language after coming on and making some positive plays.
I still have a bit of a theory that some of the Bayerns regulars are absolute pricks by their body language. I've been worried a bit for Alphonso as I can imagine the environment hasn't been entirely pleasant this season at Bayern and likely tense.
Nonetheless, super happy for him. Could almost cry. There's going to be many ups and downs in his young career at such a massive and established club, so lets enjoy this amazing moment.

A Canadian teenager scored for Bayern and was congratulated by Ribery and James.
What reality is this?
