  1. Not that I'm planning on going on this trip but seems it's pretty much official that Canada will play at the Azteca:
  2. I'd be more than happy with 1, but 3 would be amazing. Mexico won 3-0
  3. I just watched the last 25mins and kept refreshing on my phone beforehand so I still haven't seen the goal, but a MASSIVE 3 points.
  4. Happy with the result, but does anyone know if there's a post game show? Err stream?
  5. True, but there's still too much travel, especially for such a small tournament. It should be 8 cities tops.
  6. Don`t forget the U20, which according to FIFA was the most successful version. As "fair" as it would be to have the CMNT play in 3 dif cities, it would be terrible in terms of transportation. I mean you're going across 3 time zones and a 5hr flight. TO to Montreal would be the only ones that make sense. Maybe Vancouver could host a knock out stage match though? In any case, I'm SUPER happy about this and am looking forward to a meaningful match. I'm sure they'll be happy to have a home game for once in a tournament. Gotta make a BMO fortress and keep tickets to a minimum and away from away fans. We're going to need those 3 points.
  7. There are what 3 groups, right? 1 group in each TO, Montreal and Vancouver. Have the finals in Edmonton (biggest stadium), to house all the Mexican fans. lol Or if theres a 4th group, have a group in Edmonton. NSS would be nice, but it's a bit small IMO, but hey, it did have the U20 finals afterall. Even BCE place might be better since they can easily add space for extra seating. As for SUM, it's not as if they'd be losing anything. They could still run the tourney, just would be hosted here. Still... doesn't hurt to dream... Unless of Floro changed his mind and took off back to Spain.. lol
  8. This. Funny how people say Canada should host the World Cup, but if we can't even host a regional tourney, we have no business hosting the GC. But w/ SUM and CONCACAF corruption, I don't see how it would happen sadly.
  9. Finally something to get excited about! Really can't get much worst... lol actually I take that back!
  10. Sorry I've been away, still heartbroken about the last WCQ match that will not be named... Anyways, I like this membership. Just wondering, if a local pick up option is a possibility? Also are there any plans for the CSN to be available in pdf/electronic format? BTW... if we make the hex during the next round, I will MORE than happily wear this: https://donshobbyshop.ca/sites/default/files/field/image/24743.jpg Just toss me out front by the corner to harass the opposing teams...
  11. I said this on the RPB board and I'll say it here, if we can't finish in the final 4 consistently (let alone win it) we're not making the World Cup.These are the teams we have to beat to make it through.
  12. Thanks! I was going to post and ask about this as well. Wish I could go to the game but damn TIFF came and I can't get the night off... pains me... Come on you reds! I'll be at the next round though!
  13. Cap Bret Hart. He can give the refs the sharpshooters and then a few chair shots to the opposing keeper.
  14. Well hopefully with a home win vs. Panama and at least a tie in Panana and Honduras, we can let some of the younger guys like Piette (oh please cap him...) and Morgan get some WCQ experience for the final home game.
  15. Egypt would likely crush us. We don't want to kill their spirits. Afterall didn't Egypt win the last African Cup of Nations? Morocco is also a good opponent. Or perhaps Israel? Could even play in Israel. Security wouldn't be an issue there. My vote goes for a local kids team from Ireland. I don't care who! Just something to get them playing together!
  16. First I've heard of this. But ya, definitely need a friendly or camp at the very least. Maybe we could set up a friendly against either of the Irelands or Iceland. Heck a game against Luxembourg or Andorra is something!
  17. Just got back from the game a little while ago and the entire south end was super tense. Seemed like everyone felt that a goal was bound to happen. There was a sense of disappointment when the last free kick went wide. Almost as if we lost 2 points. A lot of people (myself included) thought that Edgar scored and started going nuts. lol Anyways, we're doing ok. Just needed to bring Jackson on much sooner I thought. But the next game is a must win. Will need an early goal or the Panamanians will start to flop around from the oh so strong winds off Lake Ontario... Kudos to the CSA for not letting in any away team fans into the south end. Keep them out. 1 more thing. Defensively, this team is MUUUCH better. Also liked seeing Milan try to get the crowd into it. Worked wonders and we did out best as the 12th man. Sadly Honduras also had a 12th man as the ref... anyways... it's CONCACAF...
  18. I might be way off but as far as Spain goes, they also don't recognize dual citizenship, but having said that, they don't make you renounce a citizenship. If you're a Canadian and say want Spanish citizenship, you "renounce it" to the Spaniards but in reality you don't have to renounce it officially to Canada, thus while Spain (and the rest of the EU) will see you as a Spanish citizen, in reality you have your dual citizenships. Is this more or less the same?
  19. Forget about the Philippines/Spain connection. Unless he has grandparents that were Spanish citizens he can't claim Spanish citizenship. Spain lost the Philippines in 1898-1899 (or thereabouts), it only goes back up to your grandparents. I know this because I looked into it myself, but my "Spanish ancestry" is way beyond my grandparents, let alone great-grandparents. If I could, i would certainly have an EU citizenship by now!
  20. The atmosphere was amazing that night. Too bad the results said otherwise... I'm still perplexed as to how the Jamaican fans got into the CMNT supporters section and why their anthem rendition was better... So much for the CSA not catering to the opposing team... lets hope this is changed for the future...
  21. Adidas does the same thing, but I hear you. Look who has the exact same kit: http://www.irishfa.com/shop/model/677/away-kit-11-13-adult-short-sleeved-jersey/ But the keeper kit is simple and nice IMO...
  22. As cool as it would be to see Canada go, unless the Reds can win the Gold Cup, they don't deserve to go. It would be an ugly mess. Canada/Argentina anyone? Remember that? Sure it wasn't the A+ team, but it was hard to watch... Still the flipside is that it would give CMNT much needed experience against quality opponents, but knowing our luck, they'd end up in a group with Argentina, Mexico and Uruguay... all while playing in Argentina!
  23. For real?! That's so cheap! Then again, maybe a fair price seem like a bargain after being gouged by adidas...
