Agree with you both. Kaye definitely has a higher ceiling. Just pointing out that Kaye's ganaring attention, in part, because LAFC has had a fantastic start.
If he were putting in those performances in Montreal, and Piette was doing what he does in LA, the narritaves would swap as well.

I think MAK currently ranks ahead of Piette. He's the closest thing to a new Hutchinson as we have imo.
That being said from what I've noticed the American MLS analysts don't pay as much attention to the Canadian teams. Especially Montreal and Vancouver. I remember watching the MLS All-Star game and Taylor Twellman basically commented on Piatti like "Wow this guy is so good. Nobody knows about this guy because he plays in Montreal".
So even if Montreal was doing well I'm not sure Piette would be getting the same notice.

Looked very good for first 30 minutes. Looked poor in the second half. Long ways to go still. Not convinced they've got the horses...

Once again, he has to have a strong next few months, not just coasting.
He was good the last dozen games last season, very strong on a team that was pretty poorly run. I'd say we need him to be at that level, then you can call him in, assuming everyone is healthy in our midfield.
Basically the same for Will Johnson, and for Akindele.
And of course if any other of the MLS guys in the mix were to fall off, they'd also risk losing a chance at starting (Oso, Kaye, Piette).

I would be very surprised if the club didn't go out and seriously upgrade the Teibert/Felipe/Rose spot in this three man midfield during this summer transfer window.
The one thing at which Felipe excels is drawing fouls while in possession.  I'd be curious to know he ranks with other midfielders in that statistic.

I never need to see Felipe again. He is consistently terrible - he doesn't pass well, cross well, tackle well, track back, etc. He does do a pretty good job of looking busy and appearing earnest.

Don’t mean to be that guy but vela is a knob, just kick it in the net. You  don’t dribble it slowly in and look like a ass.

Yes, and Drew Moor is the key piece in the back, in so much as he is the organizer they need. Not impressed with Ciman at all so far. He will be second choice all season, barring injury to Moor and Mavinga

    Well, Pozuelo is good.
Overshadowed by Pozuelo, Osorio and Chapman both had a great game and continued their great start to the year. For me, Chapman seems deserving to get in the rotation a lot more than in previous years. He has had an impact every time he has played.
I think both Osorio and Chapman will actually benefit from having Pozuelo there. He will open up more space in the middle, because he obviously attracts attention. And he will find both of them on their runs, as both of them like to attack the back line. TFC looking like their old self, and they still have some serious TAM to work with.

I know it is early, but this team looks legit. And to think reinforcements are on the way too! I know the story will be Pozuelo tonight, but several guys looked excellent, including Oso.

Cynical foul. That's the sort of tackle where the culprit fully expects to get a red. Should have been a no-brainer.

First Canadian player ever to be congratulated on the field for scoring a goal by Franck Riberry, only months after he ate a gold steak!

Perfect timing: Kid is going to be in great form heading into the match against French Guiana.  And I will be there to watch him!!

FWIW, I think this is a side and a style that might suit Tiebert.  I am not sure, based on early observations, that Felipe and Rose are much better than Rusty, at least in this system of play, and neither have the engine that he has.  Felipe is likely better technically, but he does not have the same engine or pace as Russell.  Rose has the height, and he seems tenacious, but Tiebert seems to be a bit better technically, and maybe a bit quicker, too.  If Tiebert had two feet, and not just his left, then I'd say he'd be the automatic starter over these two fellas.  Still, there is an opening here for him...I hope he takes it.

MDS might want to adjust to a 4-4-2, with Reyna playing just behind Montero. Erice and Inbeom can boss the midfield, with the Korean pushing up the field, and then Lass and Venuto on the wings. (Not overly impressed with Venuto, to be honest. Lass looked very dangerous.) Inbeom looked very good. We'll see how the team gels, but I get the impression they are still missing a few key pieces.  Reyna and Inbeom are their best players at the moment. Erice had a better game today. Ball movement is improving significantly, but they are still not clicking in the final third.  Montero looked lost, to be honest.  But let's be honest, a phantom PK did them in today. Doneil had a sweet chance to tie things up.

To be clear, Cornelius was covering for two injured left backs: Levis and PC.  MDS said at the press conference that he had to play Cornelius out of position, that Cornelius has done very well at CB, which is his natural position.

Little wonder that they're impressed with Davies tracking back on defense.
The last time Robben  won a  ball was probably taking it from a team mate who wasn't going to pass it to him.
