    I didn't see this thread.
I will arrange sections for people at these games.
A proper section at a Mexico game is really important, it needs to be coordinated with security.

DO NOT go buying tickets until I have talked to Canada Soccer.

    Don't worry.
The Gold Cup is not the same as the Azteca in Mexico City or the Estadio Olímpico Metropolitano in San Pedro Sula.
Those are the cases where there are certain sections you just CANNOT be in (especially if Canada wins).

For the Gold Cup it's more of a slight precaution.
It's also mainly because it's far more fun when there is a group of Canadians together instead of spread out across the whole stadium.

I finally picked up my season ticket last night with the USL branded scarf.  I think I will wear it to every CPL game I go to this season to incite the locals.  Ha ha!

The overwhelming majority of the time, no.
Also, I am not suggesting you need to be surrounded by security.   Mostly arranging things with security/stadium. For example, if there were a Cuba supporters section, we shouldn't be next to it.  I don't know where that might be.
That said, if we had won that game in Mexico, even tied it, we would have needed the police in riot gear that surrounded us (well not us, the Ambassador)
Individually people would be fine.  As a group it gets more complicated and more so with beer.
This isn't meant to paint some negative picture of our region or be overly dramatic.

For once, choices are having to be made which games to go to cause there are now more than I can remember.  Tack in the must of going to at least one CPL game, the women’s send off friendly, the Voyageurs Cup and watching the local USL/PDL team, Canadian soccer supporters now have more options than ever.  That’s not a bad thing!

My wife and I live in SoCal and would be interested in going to the opener at the Rose Bowl on June 15th.  Please keep us posted on supporters tickets and/or stadium section where the bulk of the Canadian support will be sitting.

What a shit draw. My god.
They should start having the east central and western rotate on gold cup hosting.
It's like they don't want people to travel for it.

Yes, soon we'll know what the powers that be have decided behind closed doors.
Even though it may not be likely, I'm still hoping for Group C or D. I like staying on the US side of the elimination round draw. Honduras and Jamaica would be good competition for us, but I doubt they put 3 countries from the top 7/top 8 (depending on which rankings you look at) in the same group. A group with the US would be fun, but we'll see if they go that route since we're in the same Nations League group.
If we're placed in Group B, we've taken points off Costa Rica at the last 2 Gold Cups (1-1 in 2017, 0-0 in 2015) so that might not be so bad. The only drawback there is that once the group stage is over, B2 plays A1 (Mexico presumably) in the quarterfinals, so that's not ideal. If you won Group B, you'd potentially prolong a matchup with Mexico until the semis.
From a ranking perspective, I don't want to be in a group with Martinique. We took that hit recently against French Guiana in Nations League qualifying, as well as at the Gold Cup 2 years ago. Let someone else earn no ranking points against a non-FIFA member this time, preferably someone we're close to catching in the rankings.

Yes and no. It hasn't been going on for 11 years in the public sphere, more like a couple months, and even that's mostly to people who follow women's soccer. It's just coming into the broader realm now and has inertia and traction and a life of it's own already
Even if the group was one that had proper governance and could make policy statements, what do you say? That it believes in the laws of the country and the general sport policies of pretty much every sport in the country including soccer? Isn't that a given? How could anyone ever come out and say anything to the contrary.
What exactly do you say? Who writes it? How do we as a membership of massive numbers come to consensus and agreement? How many iterations is that? How long does it take? Who approves it? Is it checked by a lawyer? Who pays for that?
There are people regularly convicted for assaulting minors in Canadian soccer in horrific ways. In the UK I believe you cannot have a club charter without a Welfare Officer. I think that would be a good outcome here with the additional step of some variant of the role in our national programs. The recent Australian situation would lend credence to that as well.

This isn't really the type of organization that makes statements. There is no structure. No board of directors, no executive committee. It's more of a hive mind.
I'm also not sure now is the right point to engage. I think the point of due process is to allow it to run its course.  After a qualified independent body or bodies review all the information and publicly and transparently present that with their findings it might be a better point.
Really looking forward to that read and it's recommendations.

Ok all you fence sitters... we are down to less than 50 tickets.
This isn't a Canada game, I can't set your lazy arse up with a ticket the day before the game.
And to all those that got free tickets from Forge, stay out of our section. Please honor your deep commitment to the game and sit with the U8 Timbits team you got your free ticket with. Don't screw up our section by overcrowding it.
