If he plays in top flight Egypt, after 4 games he is ahead of half the players you name, maybe more.
I can't for the life of me figure out what team he is with, what sort of updates are these?

"Gerges was the starting keeper for Metro Ford that season, but was forced to miss the nationals due to being called up for a Canadian U18 training camp in Guatemala."
Good news. Also, sounds like he's a '95, can anyone confirm?

Article from last year mentions that he's going to be 23 later that year. 2019-24=1995.

This is the link where the Moaca began to change  from the start it was given by CdnSupporter at BigSoccer, to my wanting to clarify it more.
    The above evolved into this
Found the list on the other board. Looks like G-L had the idea before I did.

This is a pretty promising move for Fillion. FC Aarau is in the 2nd tier Challenge League but are one of the bigger teams there. His competition at keeper is Steven Deana who is a veteran of the Swiss 2nd tier and started the first game but if he gets some chances and takes advantage of them he will be playing at a decent level with possibilities of moving to the Swiss 1st tier Super League especially given that he is owned by FC Zurich of that league. We definitely need some keeper depth for the national team so hopefully he will be one to watch.

Sure that sounds like a good principle, but what if the guy scores 10 goals and 15 assists as a winger and Dundee Utd. tear through the Championship? You don't call a guy like that up?

Think of the alternative for a young player from S. Ont. Live at home with the 'rents, work and/or go to school and play in L1O or CSL for free or small cash payments. This way they get to go live on their own with accomodation paid for, might get a cushy job through the club sponsors or owners, experience a different culture and all while playing at a level at least similar to L1O.

There are plenty of young people who finish their BA, have debt and decide to go abroad to do internships in developing countries for next to no pay.  I would think of it as the same for footballers.  You need a sense of adventure, willingness to take a risk and an understanding that you are earning a meager living for the next year or more.  The payoff is that it gets you experience, and it might lead to something more sustainable.  If not - you took a chance, you are set back financially from if you stayed home, and you go back to living with your parents looking for that desk job that allows you to comb through Voyageurs forums on Monday mornings.
