2015 MLS TV Ratings

Recommended Posts

What channel was the TFC v DC United game on this weekend?

Was Philadelphia v Montreal on a national sports channel, or just a french network?

It was on a Sportsnet kind of channel

Yes and yes. TVA Sports is a national sports channel and a french network.

I haven't been including any of the TVA Sports games on the list as the ratings provided are only English language.

Ratings seem to be up on TSN over the last couple of weeks. I wonder if this is a post WWC bump where people are now used to tuning in and find soccer? The good results that both Vancouver and Toronto have been having certainly don't hurt.

It's amazing to see EPL games played during morning time in Canada doing better than MLS ratings.

Just imagine if EPL played during prime time in Canada how much higher their ratings will be in this country?

MLS and 3 Canadian MLS clubs need to do better job of promoting MLS in this country so TV numbers wouldn't be so low.

It's not the EPL. It's Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal that get high ratings. Low budget, MLS teams can't compete with the creme de la creme of soccer.

Aston Villa v Bournemouth had more than TFC

Aston Villa v Bournemouth had more than TFC

That was nothing more than spillage (50% retention as well) from the Man U Tottenham lead in. Also, Chelsea played right after so people waiting for that game just casually left it on there. The TFC numbers were comparable and if both games were on at the same time, the TFC game would easily double it.
