Voyageurs t-shirts for WCQ?

Recommended Posts

EDIT: It looks like I couldn't find a supplier in time. If someone else would like to produce these sooner rather than later, let me know. Otherwise, I'll see if I can find something by the MTL semi-final round matchdate.

----------------------------------

I came up with this mock-up - it could be cool to have Canada fan shirts for WCQ and sold cheaply (like the Black Wednesday t-shirts) to ensure maximal red CANADIAN gear at WCQ.

The front is a throwback to the WC86 shirts, and the back (I wish I could find those striped old-school numbers) sports 10 for its importance in soccer and for WC2010.

Ideas, concepts, etc.?

Awesome design.

But since you asked for more ideas...

- I would rather see the #12 (ie twelfth man) or #1

- I'd be interested to see how a larger Vees logo would look instead of "CANADA"

- maybe even just a big ol' maple leaf on the front as either a full-chest graphic or a small one in the same space as the Vees logo.

Just some thoughts. :)

My take:

- RPB already does 12, and 1 is a GK number

- The idea was to make it look like a soccer jersey, which is why the wordmark and badge are how they are. I'm not a big fan of something too big on the front.

I think he's referring to a "two-four" of beer.

LOL :D That has potential!

I'll be wearing my 'antique' voyageurs T-shirt. Bought in the 90's.

i think the word voyageurs on the front would be better than canada

and 12 on the back is the way to go. who cares what RPB does, they did not invent using the 12, thats the worldwide standard number for supporters groups.

Well, that could work. But I didn't have it in mind when posting. When 2010 rolls around won't it be 24 years since 1986?

It would be another slight jab at the CSA.

I'm reluctant as the first thing that should stick out is exactly who we're here for, not who we are. And "Voyageurs" is our name, which means nameplate.

Here's the 1986 WC uniforms, for reference:

It's brilliant, Daniel. I'd definitely buy one as it is. I wouldn't change the front at all, but a minor font change on the back might be okay. I think it'd be fine with either ten or twelve on the back.

I want that throwback 1986 Jersey. SWEET!

They have jerseys similar to the 86 WC one in Kensington market in Toronto, the soccer stall on the west side that sells fakes from Peru on the main drag, across from the valumart.

It's not exactly the same, but close.

On the topic of this thread, I like the shirts.
