We're Back Up!

Recommended Posts

Due to the misfortunes of Thursday's motherboard crash, the server has been upgraded to a newer faster machine!

Let me know in this post if there are any problems.

New Registration, and password retrieval will be temporarily disabled until the weekend. Other than that, we're G2G!

Good to be back Jarrek, we realize how much we need you when it is down.

What was it that went wrong by the way?

The server motherboard had failed. Normally the webhosts would do a "motherboard swap", but the one we had reached its end of life and could not be replaced. Hence a new system was built for us. Since everything was basically a new installation, I needed to migrate the old MYSQL databases containing the 5 years of forum data onto the new server.

I would be interested, how much does the position pay? :)

If you ever migrate to the LAMP stack I'm available. My Microsoft skills have atrophied over the last 8 years.

PS. (LAMP = Linux Apache MySQL PHP)

PS2: "What is a windows?" It is a graphical thing also known as "X-Windows" [8D]
