But seriously...

Tabla looks like he has a high ceiling, but I don't know how he compares to the others.  Crisante playing with Atalanta and Tomori making waves in England are both pretty intriguing.  Don't know much about the others, but cheers to all of them pulling on the maple leaf.

Chose Ferreira because as has been pointed out by others our group of CBs is aging and we could use some experience and quality back there.

The prospect of Tabla sure is tempting, though if he were to embrace the idea of representing Canada.

I'm not voting, because I've only seen Tabla play, none of the others. That being said, I would love for him to commit to us. Let's keep this Gold Cup run going to make him a bit jealous that he isn't there.

Biggest game in recent history for the Canadian men and we need another thread worrying about who isn't there?  Can't we just focus on what's going on in front of us lol

Would Andreas Vaikla be ineligible now as he is cap tied to Estonia? I'm loving Borjan as of late - but could definitely use some youth in the mix!

Chose Tomori - thinking longer term.  But we need all of them!

This young guy or the Braga CB.  Big need position:  the current group of available younger CBs didn't impress OZ enough for him to bring here (i.e. Gasporatto and some others) and I don't see any Matt Miazga's coming through our domestic club pipeline at the moment.  We really need some more competition here.

Not sure if we have a fence sitter at RB but another guy who could join Cordova as an up and comer would be great

To quote myself:

Just for fun and to fill some time before our big game against Jamaica!

Fully agree that CB is our big position of need, although I still hold some hope for Doneil.

At RB, I agree that another up-and-comer would be nice, but I like the look of Petrasso there.

I am hoping we get some kind of update to do with Henry soon. At least some sort of record he is back training with the team.

Wow Cristante is in 4th. Considering he might actually be the best one on there and the one that could actually be a difference maker that's a shock.

Also how is Ferreira leading this RN? Guy seems insanely injury prone.

No not yet because he's only played Friendly's, he hasn't played in any major  sanctioned  senior competition for Estonia.

if we got him , we could have  A fantastic young core of goalies coming up,

I know but I just surprised the injury bug didn't hurt him in this poll

Doneil Henry's career has been hampered  by injury and we still have many posters here who have him on their CB depth charts.

Can I just ask honestly why Tomori is still considered a fence sitter? He already switched over and is quite a well known commodity in England after the u20 success. When I was there a month ago they had articles about his heroics and all that in the papers.

I assumed he was as good as gone. Unless someone had a reason to think he'd switch back that I was missing

Matty, do you think NEC getting relegated will hurt Ferdi's chances with getting called up by Netherlands or turkey ? He would be an awesome pick up for Canada, Great Attacking midfielder.

I think he's too young for it to hurt him really. If he's playing there for years then yes

You're not gonna include Marco Carducci?

    • 😳 wow some of you guys/girls are so jaded and really hold this Canadian team at low regard and living in the past
    • The question remains: Why on Earth do we deserve to play perennial European World Cup teams when we haven't even been to the Hex in 20 years? If the Nations League groups are 6 per level and parsed by FIFA rankings, that puts us in a group with Honduras, Jamaica, T&T, Guatemala and El Salvador. That's really good competition for us, gives us the experience we need in Central America, and puts us in a position to get promoted into a group where the majority of games are against Mexico, the US or Costa Rica.  I'm not sure there is a country that benefits more from the Nations League than Canada.
    • I think you summarized it well.  We saw him play a phenomenal game earlier in the season against Seattle.  But then you have some games where he was not nearly as involved as he could or should be.  I think he played the first leg of that game versus Ottawa and that would have been a chance for cnd players like Chapman to shine but that didnt happen.   Last night, big props for the goal, but there was a play later in the second half where he seems to get intimidated by Giovinco screaming for the ball when he (Chapman) was in a good position to create something useful.  Hence he forced an unnecessary pass to Giovinco who was in no position to make anything usefull of the play.  Maybe we can blame Giovinco for that. Or we can blame the usual "locker room pecking order or culture" that exists Soccer. By that, i mean that Giovinco makes 7 Mill, starts every game, is a league MVP, has several international caps for Italy, played for Juventus etc .  Whereas chapman is young player looking to build a reputation.   So what would we do if we were In Chapman's shoes on that play?    If we had guts, we ignore The 7mill dollar man and do whats right on that play and hold on to the ball a little longer.   But If want to keep our spots on the team, we listen to what giovinco wants and says if he is screaming at you.
    • I'm just repeating what I've heard. SKC likes to play with a high-line which is suited for CBs with recovery speed. Besler, Opara and Palmer-Brown are all rapid for CBs. Didic is going to have a hard time breaking into their system. He's going to spend the rest of the year at SPR unless Palmer-Brown is sold in this window and there is no end in sight for Besler and Opara.
